Can definitely see this growing on a second viewing. Similar to Mitchells vs the Machine this film is almost nonstop. Equally funny and emotionally rewarding, though I did find the general arc sort of predictable. I was basically the same age as these girls were in 2002 and to be honest I knew girls exactly like this, it was uncanny how on point certain details could be.
The pads scene was peak second hand embarrassment. I wonder if that actually happened to someone on the production team.
Also the end bending into Kaiju cinema was a fun touch.
