Ten years after its release, the only thing I really knew about Up was there was an old geezer and a boy scout and a floating house with balloons and a reduce-you-to-a-blubbering-wreck opening sequence.
Thus I spent a full decade emotionally preparing myself for that first 15 minutes.
Pleased to say I made it through the opening relatively unscathed because I have developed a heart of stone but then discovered that Up is actually completely bonkers. I mean really, really crazy. It's a bizarre concept and a story that just gets more and more weird, particularly when the big bird and talking dogs show up.
