This is a really impressive juggling act.
I've got to give writer/director Greg Jardin massive props. At first I was a little apprehensive. I wonder why these characters were so broadly drawn. It put me off a little, but once Jardin starts spinning those plates all my preconceived notions went right over the balcony. I was glued to every caddy, backstabbing twist and turn.
It's not just the story that impressed me, it's how the story is told. It's complicated, but it's easy to follow as long as you're paying attention. The color coding, split screen, and something as simple as Polaroids make everything crystal clear. The performers embrace the character traits that makes it easy to figure out who is whom.
The only thing missing was being able to see this with an audience. This straight-to-streamer title is a crowd-pleaser that should have been shared with large groups of strangers. I bet those reactions would have been amazing.
