I had low expectations but this wasn’t bad at all. Aside from some reasonably clunky expository dialogue in the first act, much of this flows more naturally than the vast majority of “ripped from the headlines” dramadies. The obvious 2023 comparison might be “BlackBerry”; this one is about ten times more cohesive and elegant, and far surpasses that movie’s cosplay-level verisimilitude. After this and “I, Tonya,” both strong triples, I’m eager to see if Craig Gillespie has a real home run of a movie in him.
