]]>A fascinating tale about the manifestation of a spirit representing the grief of a woman is quite unusual but certainly captivating in its viewing experience. The scene of introducing the Babadook Book has to be one of the most chilling and sinister scenes I’ve ever witnessed to introduce the main antagonist of the story. The look, sound, movement, and behavior of the Babadook is altogether jarring, mysterious, and nefarious to its core. This is an engrossing plot because of the profound similarities this can portray for a viewer struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief when not dealt with head on and in depth. Masked by drugs, an emotional façade, apathy, and denial of reality, the spiraling into madness is remarkably portrayed by the protagonist. The resolution is somewhat unfinished but in transition to a healthier realignment and pursuit of healing. One final thought: the Babdook is such a cool and creepy character and it is inspiring me so much into adding more horror like elements into my DND campaign.
]]>This is a masterpiece for David Eyelowo and such an engaging performance overall. A story like this needs to be shared more with people who only think of MLK with the Civil Rights Act and Dream Speech in ‘63 when Selma and ‘65 brought a continuance of peaceful but necessary resilience. This is must watch.
]]>Surprised to see Patrick Warburton and Keith David in this each with such a brief appearance. Tyler James Williams really does carry this film though; he seriously has some talent and I would like to see him in more films and shows. Besides that, this Rom-Com was neither endearing nor humorous.
]]>I would rather drink a gallon of apple cider vinegar, eat a bowl of straight wasabi, try to speak in only Chinese for a day, listen to people scream while doing calculus, walk on a bed of hot coals for an hour, swim in the arctic in formal attire, give up dnd for a week, not workout for a month, walk everywhere in high heels, get my tongue pierced, shave my entire body, enlist in the military and only quack like a duck while doing basic training, and move to Albania and change my name than watch this atrocity of a movie ever again in my lifetime or for the rest of eternity.
]]>Such a cool idea for a story and talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time. But there was something missing about this movie. It may be the pacing or the tension being awkwardly arranged and placed in segments of the film. I was wishing for more but was left unsatisfied. I did really like the dinosaurs and how alien and reptilian hybrid-like they looked to make Earth feel like a different planet than what we know it to be outside of the film as a viewer. But for real it needed more dinosaurs. Maybe it would have been cool if there was a sort of hunter like dinosaur that was tracking them to place a heavier stress in the conflict of the story. Still a little fun to watch and I like watching Adam Driver in movies. Looking forward to the next film I see him in.
]]>A shallow film lacking a lot and yet delightful experience except for the freakin snakes in and out of the dudes face. I hate snakes.
]]>So you’re telling me that a multimillion dollar technological robotic canine weapon can brush off highly advanced military grade firearms but is instantly neutralized by a standard flamethrower and can’t even keep up with a dirt bike. Nahhh this stinks.
]]>Matthew McConaughey leading a rebellion…count me in.
]]>The amount of absurdity in this is similar to the cheater fudging their rolls and getting freakin natural 20s every turn smh dishonor on your cow especially for having no Mushu 👎🏻
]]>Starsky the Zebra-3 and then one year later Alex the Lion, talk about range Ben Stiller!! A lot of possibilities with this film but it was amusing at best. I was wishing this would make me laugh but sadly no. Such potential wasted with this one. Maybe I will watch the original Starsky and Hutch and see what it is all about.
]]>Typical “don’t let your emotions get the best of you” training montage between the old vet and the zealous young whippersnapper, but with no real raw emotion and feelz coming out in this movie. Disappointing for sure, but Michael Keaton’s resilience to torture was decent. For sure the opening scene was jarring and probably the heaviest moment to launch a story into an orbit of immense suspense and action. But it soon stalled out, like my car did last night.
]]>So much potential in this cast, cool premise, decent action, but this fails to capture any emotion and to pull you into a compelling plot. It’s a bullet point type story that lacks any character.
Still Denzel is a bad man and you shouldn’t mess with him. So for that I still like it a little.
]]>I’m gonna say this to all the men out there. When she says she needs to clear her head, yeah you should definitely be worried.
The old Noah and Allie at the end is really sweet and tender though. Gonna be vulnerable and say I’m excited to live long and grow old with my wife. It’s gonna be a blessing. If I wasn’t married it would be tolerable and 2.5 stars, but since I am, I can’t help but understand and appreciate a little more.
]]>This is a disgrace. The original was great and they should have left it alone instead of trying to make a sequel.

“Trigger drowned”…I then start tearing up😢
This is severely underrated as a war movie and deserves more credit. McConaughey’s role is performed well and the rest are a decent support. I like that you see very little of the enemy ships and subs to make you feel like you are in the sub with the Americans. It has some good twists and turns in the story that I did not expect. It’s no Hunt For Red October but this is definitely my #2 favorite submarine movie.
]]>The fact that people kept a straight face while making this movie astounds me! Steve Martin you are a gem.
]]>Ya know it may not be a great main adventure but this is an awesome backstory and character arc!! You cannot deny it!! It’s just so cool and it makes me wanna play a D&D campaign like this. Orrrr maybe I should play Curse of Strahd first.
]]>This isn’t a good main story, but it makes for a banger of a side quest!
The Wahlberg and Denzel dynamic, jabber, and trash talking is surprisingly fun. They should do more movies.
]]>I’m fully convinced that this is just Jason Statham in real life and they just followed him around when they made this film.
]]>Liam Neeson is really good at these roles but has so much more range to work with in his talents in other types of films. Unfortunately his Taken reputation is just too great for him to get away from a story like this. But I like it a lot.
]]>Paul the friends are the MVPs in this movie. This is always gonna be a favorite of mine.
]]>Steve Carell is a certified master at the sad and disappointed face “womp womp”.
Started out slow but the simple and almost relatable presentation of this movie proves the “real life” feeling you get with it. This film isn’t trying to be profound and that’s where the relatability kicks in for the viewer. Pleasant experience and this is decent and a little humorous.
]]>All the Transformers movies are like if the Rule of Cool applied 100% in every scenario and that IS cool!
A part of me will always love the Transformers movies and the fun they bring. The crazy action, the various transformers and their abilities, the long time rival between Megatron and Optimus Prime, the unnecessary explosions and action, and the fight scenes and choreography and transformations themselves is what makes it watchable. The plot, acting, and premise is just not well crafted to make it an interesting and engaging story. And I understand that’s why most people would give it an average or low rating. I get it.
But boy do I love me some Tucci and Optimus Prime in cinema! They never fail to entertain me!
]]>Better idea for this movie. Make it a comedy by putting Nick Miller in it instead of regular Nick. Now that would be a successful film!
]]>Tried to be cool and was not. Tried to be funny and was not. Tried to have awesome CGI and effects and failed. Tried to develop an interesting story and I’ve literally played video games with better plots, it failed. Tried to resurrect nostalgia and it was laughable and a disgrace. Tried for humorous one liners, I didn’t see Ryan Reynolds or Jim Carrey in this…so no. Tried to have an inspiring score, forgettable. Tried and tried and tried. Tried all the options. There is no timeline where this can be fixed.
]]>When it said the Director had previously created commercials, it checked out as the first 10 minutes of the movie was the only good part. The rest after that is insufferable and cheesy.
]]>Mic drop Gary Oldman!! Well done!!👏🏻
]]>This is the least of all the movies but I still love it! I felt like the movie was a little too long and not paced as best as it could have been if I’m speaking objectively. But I am so engrossed in every shot and scene because my heart is happy watching Harry Potter!
]]>Ain’t no way Hugh Jackman is this much of a simp!
I give it a plus for its creativity and attempt at a Nolan-like Inceptionish noir dystopian vibe. Sure it pulls from influences, like a lot of films, but I appreciate the attempt, with meh performances from good and great actors and actresses, to make something unique. It misses the mark but it intrigues me so I’m left wishing this was done better.
]]>This was stupid. But when they sang The Sound of Silence, Hello, and Total Eclipse of that Heart it was a little less stupid. Also, “Because singing killed my grandma” is one of the wildest out of the blue statements…didn’t see that one coming.
]]>This is fun but trying to be too much and it can’t live up to the hype of the first two. Still a little entertaining, silly, and the kid was decent.
]]>First let me start with pros before cons. Pros: the choreography was fun, cinematography and camera angles engaging, the colors and presentation were decent, actors and actresses weren’t horrible, Goldblum is always a plus.
But… This is tolerable at best but still disappointing. This is just pandering to the long time fans of the play that wanted to see them make a movie and profit millions. “Let me tell you my side of the story” is such a cliche beginning. Please get creative. Also the people looked like normal sized people and not actual Munchkins what the heck why are you leaving out the little people. I thought you all supposed to be inclusive huh? The “I don’t see color” quote was so cringe and bait to try to force the viewer to hate the privileged. Basic theme overused. I can’t stand that this chick is just looking for approval from the wizard to make everything alright. So shallow and it doesn’t make a great protagonist character. The animals and different colored main character as the heckled spectacle of the film just for the sake of making fun for one difference is initially recognized and quickly an old conflict that swiftly turns stale in this story. The antagonists literally saying “I hate and laugh at this person because they are different than me and look different and act different and that’s disgusting.” Whatttt??? Sounds like middle school talk. That’s all I can remember from the initial watch. Probably won’t watch it ever again.
I felt no conflict or weight with this film. Besides Popular and Defying Gravity no songs were portrayed catchy, entertaining, clever, advancing to the story, or developing the plot. The other songs did not push the story toward a direction. It left it stagnant except for Popular and Defying Gravity. I saw the show Wicked live and it was fun but I think it is meant to be left in the theater. I’ll say it again and again. It is lazy, uncreative, and lame for these stories to be recycled or given sequels just to make millions of dollars. I only went to see this in the theater because someone paid for it and my family wanted me to go and so for them I did. I truly wanted this to be good, because I can appreciate the play. Please be actual artists and make original movies not remakes gosh this infuriates me.
]]>Too much chaos to be a good movie but just enough to be a tolerable Christmas movie.
]]>Sean Bean doesn’t die?!…so unrealistic.
]]>The only cool thing about this movie is the cinematography when they are doing the extreme sports and stunts, which is so fun to watch. Then again I can find that online with some talented guy with a GoPro or anyone can just use special effects in a film. This lacked so much substance and an actually engaging story. But now I have to watch the original and discover what the hype is all about.
]]>Trash
]]>What the heck did I just watch?! And how the heck is this a true story?! “The truth is crazier than fiction.”
]]>These dudes pale in comparison to Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster.
]]>At times, cliché. And then, it wasn’t. The ending and the main point of it all threw me off and surprised me. Thank you for not another basic cop/detective ending. The three leads did the best they could and often really well, but the pacing, directing, and writing sometimes was a letdown.
]]>The Mike Piazza cameo and the Pokemon comment were the two best parts of the movie.
Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant have the chemistry to make a great movie but this just didn’t hit for me. There was no compelling plot or emotion that drew me in and the way it was written and portrayed in this film fell flat. Still just an “okay” experience with this one.
]]>Seeing the Exodus and redemptive deliverance from God brought to life in beautiful animation and storytelling is breathtaking. More people need to watch this.
]]>Iconic and definitely a fan favorite and I can see that. Some of the acting and writing was a bit cheesy but I guess that is the 80s for ya. The Mr. Miyagi and Danny connection and relationship is gold. Such a great original story.
]]>The build up and tension in the plot itself could have been done better but the action and pacing of it was fun. Better than I thought it was going to be. Gary Oldman was dealt a bad hand with this one but did the best he could and Gerard Butler exceeded expectations. And I’m always a sucker for submarine movies. It’s no The Hunt for Red October, but it will suffice as an enjoyable film.
]]>Now I’m mad that I never read the book before watching the movie. How have I missed out on this classic film all these years?! It’s simply great. Stanley carrying Zero up the mountain gave me Samwise Gamgee vibes. Both movies made in 2003 👌🏻
]]>Didn’t know I was going to be watching another James McAvoy movie this week when my wife suggested we watch this. He is as always either a well done or brilliant performance. But Catherine O’Hara kills it with this and watching this film may have finally convinced me to give Schitt’s Creek a try.
]]>Seeing James MacAvoy not as the insane person in a horror movie is throwing me off a little bit. Definitely not as tolerable as the first… But where the heck are the authorities and adults in this town that actually care to find out what the heck is happening? I mean yeah it’s not a realistic movie and I think that’s why it’s not as scary to me. I really do like Bill Hader though that’s a plus always.
]]>Well it’s no secret that I don’t like horror movies at all; they aren’t what I love about cinema but I guess I can try watching some. Didn’t think this one was that scary and I really didn’t jump. I honestly sound like a novice writing this but I have no idea what to expect from horror films.
My favorite park was “ROCK WAR!!”
]]>“Because when I shop, the world gets better. The world is better. And then it’s not anymore. And I need to do it again.” The fact that there are actually people out there like this just hurts my soul…and Dave Ramsey’s soul too probably.
Witty, entertaining, and better than I thought. Mildly surprised that I enjoyed this. Also Isla Fisher is magnificent.
