This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
the scene where bridget runs after mark darcy wearing her underwear and a cardigan is such a powerful moment and, shockingly enough, for once I'm not exaggerating. bridget had spent the whole movie obsessing over her weight, her appearance and how other people perceive her, resulting in her constantly feeling awkward, inferior and powerless. yet by the end, she manages to overcome her insecurities in order to chase after and confront mark, who proceeds to kiss the fuck out of her and wrap his coat around her as the snow falls to the ground. she is accepted and loved. it's what she deserves.

I really wanted to love this, but for a movie that has a CGI monkey doing every drug known to man, it’s surprisingly… boring? the novelty of the main character being represented by a monkey wore off after about 15 minutes and it became clear that this is a pretty standard biopic. there are some creative and interesting choices sprinkled throughout, but overall I found it to be clichéd and heavy handed. the ‘rock DJ’ scene was an absolute banger and…

the first half had me delighted and enthralled, and the second half, while still entertaining, felt like it had less momentum and it had me checking my watch to see how long there was left. wish that there was a version of this that was just one three hour movie to assist with the pacing instead of splitting the story into two parts.
