Methodically incisive and delicate character study, a work that lets words flow by while two personas are dissected like onions; Jennifer Lawrence didn’t participate in such a great quality project since Winter’s Bone (2010). The entire environment is suffocating even if the movie uses the most natural color-grading possible, and Tyree Henry is illuminating. Camera moves with millimetric precision and has a nearly-perfect sense of symmetry or disorientation, when it is required, with the highest subtlety. Surprises like this, that fly under the majority’s radar, are always extremely appreciated, so Lila, please, stay away from TV and raise your cinematic voice!
