Heretic tries to blend psychological horror with faith-testing thrills but ends up feeling like a slow-burning game of cat-and-mouse where the tension fizzles before it fully ignites. Hugh Grant delivers a solid performance as the sinister Mr. Reed, but at times, the movie drags so much it feels like it’s asking, “What the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here” à la Creep by Radiohead.
It was a decent film, but, man, the pacing makes it feel painfully long. Maybe a rewatch will change things, but right now, I’m just a weirdo who’s not entirely sold on this one🙂↕️
