    From Beyond

    ★★★½

“It ate him… bit off his head… like a gingerbread man!”

When Jeffery Combs walked up the camera and said that line so seriously, I burst out laughing lmao. Good fun, anything lovecraftian is a green light for me but it’s either a hit or miss. Amazing and disgusting practical effects. Barbara Crampton and Stuart Gordon, great duo.

“You, too, can feel the joy and happiness of hating.”

Barbara Steele OG scream queen? Yes please.

  • Taxi Driver

    Taxi Driver

    ★★★★★

    “You’re only as… healthy… as… you… feel.”

The other day for the first time in a long time, the loneliness crept in a little too deep. Taxi Driver felt like a suitable option to soothe the isolation. in the gloom and doom that fall and winter brings to the city, I can’t deny that it will take getting used to. Bickle is not someone to idolize. He is a narcissist, and a bigot. But his feelings of alienation combined with…

  • Lords of Chaos

    Lords of Chaos

    ★★★★½

“No, he blew his head off.”

The lore in itself makes it worth watching if you’re a fan of Norwegian black metal, Mayhem, or a good story. I heard the documentary offers more in depth information and while I’m interested in that. The dodgy dramatized version with its eerily similar looking cast band members works just right for me.

  • Gladiator II

    Gladiator II

    ★★

“Is this how Rome treats its hero’s”

What a fitting quote to start us off. Is this how Hollywood treats its audience? Man. I was walking into something I knew was controversial and yes, it had moments, though not many and for that I give grace. Scott would tell me to go fuck myself for that but that’s to be expected.

  • Beyond the Black Rainbow

    Beyond the Black Rainbow

    ★★★★

“You know this is always the highlight of my day.”

It definitely is not Mandy.. but the similarities define the director and you can blatantly tell this is Panos Cosmatos. I wouldn’t blame you if you hated this with all your heart but getting away from the traditional pictures can be exhilarating.

  • Evil Dead

    Evil Dead

    ★★★★★

“You’re little sister is being raped in hell”

Holds the world record for most amount of fake blood used coming in at seventy thousand gallons. How much more badass can you get. Makes me exited for Mark’s adaption of Iron Lung which supposedly will beat the previous record. The head actor of Iron Lung even had to be hospitalized for getting too much fake blood in his eyes.

  • Zodiac

    Zodiac

    ★★★★½

“I’m gonna kill them, I’m gonna kill those kids!”

What better way to honor my arrival back home to the Bay? Not only does Zodiac make a good story because of its bizarre true cases. His identity being a mystery cements him forever as one of the few and many who got away. No one cares about the man who got caught.

  • Smiles of a Summer Night

    Smiles of a Summer Night

    “Love is a loathsome business.”

never knew Bergman could fit so well in the comedic category, he usually pumps out more dramatic and philosophical type films. After two bombed feature films, a marriage gone wrong and being dangerously low on cash, Bergman decided. “Why not make a film just for fun? I went away to Switzerland and had two alternatives: write Smiles of a Summer Night or kill myself.” The young disheveled director would later detail. The dialogue is sparkling…

  • The Addams Family

    The Addams Family

    ★★★★★

    “Leather straps, red hot pokers!”
    “Later my dearest.”

my Halloween favorite, happy holidays hope it was a gas, and frightful. The comedy practically shaped my younger years and maybe is part of why I am as disturbed as I am.

  • Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

    ★★★½

    “Some pack of patootsies, huh?”

what happened to Corey Feldman I just found his music career and I can’t tell if it’s satire or if I’m just not in the know?

  • Stopmotion

    Stopmotion

    ★★★

    “Yeah, that’s a cartoon”

Interesting way to blend two different types of film making. The wax dummies with the flesh peeling was pretty neat. Otherwise this girl can’t escape her mommy problems and that just about sums it.
