Immaculate's Sydney Sweeney and Michael Mohan share their horror watchlist

With their nunsploitation horror Immaculate in US theaters now, director Michael Mohan and star Sydney Sweeney share their watchlist of inspirations.

One step ahead of us, filmmaker Michael Mohan always makes Letterboxd lists of inspirations for his movies—just go and find the erotic thrillers list for The Voyeurs

Now public, the watchlist for Immaculate is explored in the video above by Mohan and Sweeney, which includes visual references from Possession, as well as visuals across the board from Mother Joan of the Angels

“One thing that really struck me was how all the supporting characters were locked in to their religion, to their connection to spirituality,” says Mohan of Joan, shouting out the movie’s “austerity” for Immaculate

For the full list of inspirations for the “nunsploitation” (which Sweeney and Mohan are now accepting as a term for Immaculate, thanks to us!) watch the full video above. Immaculate is out in US theaters now.
