    An oddity from the '70s era of theatrically-distributed porn. Though released in a trimmed version, Flesh Gordon was shot with adult performers, and hardcore scenes that were later cut, except for the occasional long shot.

    Certainly the acting, script etc. are on a par with the typical bongo movie of the day. Quite who decided that bums trying to stroke it in Times Square fleapits would have a better time with the addition of terrible vaudeville humour to their skin…

    A film that I suspect falls foul of the Bond effect: if you watch the Hammer Draculas in order close together, the diminishing returns are obvious. But catching this in a cinema at Darkfest VII brought out more of the good than the bad.
