Bob Verhine is Full Professor of Education in the School of Education at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and, in addition, is member of the Fulbright Commission of Brazil and founding member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of Bahia. In the past, he has served as Vice Provost (Pró-Reitor) of Graduate Study at UFBA, Scientific Director of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Bahia (FAPESB), President of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CONAES), and CAPES/MEC representative for the field of Education. He has also been President of the Brazilian Comparative Education Society (SBEC) and Vice President of the Brazilian Association of Educational Evaluation (ABAVE). His research and writing currently focus on the study of higher education evaluation from an international comparative perspective.
