Marco holds a B.S in Economics from Universidade de São Paulo (FEA/USP), MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, PhD Candidate in Finance at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (EAESP/FGV) and is a Visiting Scholar at Lemann Center in Stanford University. Currently, Marco develops a research thesis to investigate the effects of management practices on student performance. His research focuses on the leadership role of school principais and on the variation of managerial practices employed in the Brazilian public school system. As an entrepreneur, Marco is the Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of Arbela Investimentos, a value-oriented long-term investment firm based in Brazil. Marco also served as a member of the Board of Directors of several portfolio companies. Previously, Marco was the Co-Founding Partner and Portfolio Manager at Cox Capital Management and also the Co- Founding Partner and Head of Research at Tarpon Investimentos. He also worked at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank.
