Giácomo is a Master's student in the International Education Policy Analysis program. Prior to joining Stanford and the Lemann Center, he researched Brazilian moral and civic education during his undergraduate studies in Political Science and Anthropology at the University of Chicago, where he was an Odyssey and a Stamps Scholar. Giácomo's research is informed by his experience growing up in a highly polarized political context at home and at school. He is interested in how policymakers, schools, and non-governmental organizations shape citizenship education in Brazil, as well as how varying conceptions of what a 'good citizen' is impact education policy and democracy.
