Ora M. Boas, 102, died December 25, 2024 at Maple Farm Nursing Home, Akron, PA.
Born in Woodbury, Pennsylvania, to John and Margaret Hoover, she was the wife of the late John (Gus) Boas, who passed away in 2003.
She and her husband owned and operated produce markets, beginning with Boas Fruit Market. Ora was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, going for long rides, and baking. She loved to share life with those around her.
Ora is survived by her children, Priscilla Hess, Delaware, Louisa Northup (John), Landisville, and Annette Beppler, Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn, and her brother Merle. She is survived by the following grandchildren, John McElwee, Matthew McElwee, Luke McElwee, Cary Boas, Holly Northup, Peter Northup and Erika Hess, and her great-granddaughters, Courtney Boas, Kaylie Boas, Amanda Northup and Emily Northup. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Mark McElwee.
Private funeral arrangements will be made at the family's discretion. Contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PA.
