Hanzō is a member of the No Respect, and a major villain in one of the arcs in Kinnikuman Nisei. He then becomes an ally, and a member of the Idol Chojin.

About[]

One of the No Respect (ノーリスペクト) trio, Hanzo hails from Planet IGA (惑星IGA, Wakusei IGA), which neighbours Planet Kinniku. He is initially an enemy of Mantaro Kinniku, as the second member of the Gruesome Threesome, and also the murderer of the Ninja/Ninja Ned. Touched by Mantaro Kinniku's kindness, he reforms after their match and reappears as an Idol Chojin during the Demon Seed Arc.

Personality[]

Due to his facial injury, he was bullied as a child, making him hate everyone and becoming a merciless killer once he grew older. Not only did he become a brutal and ruthless assassin, but an extremely bloody and sadistic murder that enjoys killing. He especially loves to take the faces of his victims to use them in macabre tactics against other opponents. He is a rather manipulative Chojin and use psychological damage against his enemies, such as when he used The Ninja’s pupil's face in one of his puppets, to make the former Devil Chojin lower his guard to attack him.

After his defeat, he sees the error of his ways, and wants to redeem himself. This leads Robin Mask to recruit him to become part of the new Idol Chojin to face against the Demon Seed. He maintains his brutal techniques, but now he uses them in the name of justice against the evil opponents he faces.

Appearance[]

He is a tall and rather athletic chojin that is completely bald and has a disfigured, burned face. He covers said face with a white mask with a pair of horns. The mask is also his personal emblem since he also uses a similar design on his belt. He wears a red armor that left his arms exposed. On his back there is a sheath, and once he puts his arm inside, it transforms into a sword. He wears a white scarf that he uses in some of his techniques.

History[]

Prehistory[]

At a very young age, Hanzo's face was horribly burned in a fire (in the anime, he is said to have gotten this burn from radiation from a meteor shower). [1] As a result, he is reminded of this incident and struck with fear whenever he sees fire. Through Prajñā, he decides to put on a mask and become a phantom killer, skinning his victim's faces and keeping the rawhide. In the course of his rampage, he kills 295 Planet Kinniku Soldiers, among them Kokumo, The Ninja's student. Subsequently arrested by The Ninja, Hanzo is imprisoned.

Burning Inner Strength Challenge Arc[]

Hanzo is introduced as No Respect #2 in Mantaro Kinniku's Burning Inner Challenge Arc.[2] They are set to fight in a special ring at Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, but The Ninja, who deems him too dangerous an opponent for the challenge, intervenes and fights him first. [1] But Hanzo quickly frees from his lock and hits him with one of the iron balls chained to him, before continuing with a series of punches. The Ninja catches his arm and throws him away. Hanzo manages to land safely on a roof and challenges The Ninja to come to the Kiyomizu Temple.

At the temple, he is free from his chains. Right after, a shadow resembling Mantaro appears, and starts with a series of quick blows, revealing himself as The Ninja, while Mantaro arrives badly injured after his fight with Fork the Giant. Hanzo locks The Ninja and tries to slam him into the floor, but he quickly uses his Order and Betrayal at Will to get free, slamming Hanzo instead. The Ninja quickly starts to use the ropes of the ring to lock Hanzo in his Binding Spider Web, making him pay for all the people he has killed in the past, including his pupil Kokumo. The Ninja deploys a multitude of impressive tactics, including his Ninpo Spider Web Binding. [3]

Hanzo simply laughs at him, saying that after all his years in prison, he has learned a lot of ninja techniques. Not wanting to listen more, The Ninja tries to finish him, only for discovering that Hanzo has used a replacement technique, changing places with an statue. He then jumps from the roof and use his centipede kick to land a series of double kicks into The Ninja.

The kicks continue until The Ninja almost falls off of the ring to his doom. He manages to hook his leg into one of the ring’s ropes, kicking Hanzo in the face and jumping onto the roof, where he uses his Human Balloon technique to inflate himself and blow a powerful wing into Hanzo, sending a series of tiles into him, hitting him, which also cut the remaining ropes.

However, Hanzo, using his Arm Lengthening Technique, catches all the tiles, and initiates his Dragon Body Tile Whip technique, attacking The Ninja in a ferocious way. The old chojin manages to pass his attacks, and then kicks him. However, Hanzo is able to counter them all, and subjects The Ninja to psychological torture by creating a tatami puppet, giving it Kokumo’s face and having it accuse The Ninja of cowardice. [3] Thanks to Mantaro, The Ninja manages to break free from that, and retrieves the face of his pupil before launching an attack.

Once again Hanzo uses his Tatami Puppet Technique to catch The Ninja, just before making the puppet do a backdrop, hitting The Ninja on the head. Seeing as The Ninja doesn’t plan on surrendering, Hanzo starts with a new collection of blows with his puppet, throwing The Ninja into the air and catching him with his Temple Bell Splitter, just before finishing with his You’de Katana, taking his face and letting his body fall into the abyss. Finally, Hanzo slices The Ninja's face off with the You'ude Katana and knocks him out of the ring to fall to his death. [4] He ends by drinking The Ninja’s blood from his face. He wants to fight Mantaro next, exclaiming that since all the Kinniku Clan members are handsome under their masks, he wants to take Mantaro’s face.

This makes the young prince freak out and run. After returning with courage, he enters the ring in a humble way, challenging Hanzo into a tatami-floor match, which he accepts. Then Mantaro starts preparing tea, just for the spectators to interrupt him and demanding the match to start. Both fighters throw their lanterns and a bell rings initiating the start of the match.

Hanzo starts with a kick flying cross attack, before hitting Mantaro with a kick, which the young prince counters by taking him by his shoulder pads, and slamming Hanzo into the flour with a sleeve grab hip throw. Hanzo quickly gets up, but Mantaro locks him. The No Respect quickly transforms into a prehistoric horseshoe crab, crawling onto the roof, then falling down and slamming Mantaro with his horseshoe crab senton, using his spikes to land a fatal blow onto different parts of his body.

Returning into his original body and liking Mantaro’s blood, Hanzo uses his Repelling Cloud Pinwheel to attack Mantaro like a giant shuriken, and slicing a part in his mask. Mantaro, completely scared, tries to surrender, but Hanzo doesn’t listen and launches a new attack, cutting the ropes of the ring in the process. During Hanzo's match with Mantaro, he severs most of the ring ropes with the You'ude Katana. [5] Mantaro, recovering his courage, manages to avoid his attack, causing Hanzo to get trapped in a corner. This takes him out of the pinwheel as Mantaro initiates a Muscle Millennium before realizing that there are no ropes left.

Hanzo then throws Mantaro out of the ring, but he manages to grab onto the edge. Hanzo throws Mantaro out of the ring at one point, but Mantaro is encouraged by The Ninja's spirit to continue. [6] The No Respect uses his Tatami Puppet technique to attack the young prince, who manages to return to the ring, just to receive the puppet’s attack, slamming his head into the floor with a backdrop. Using his Hanging Bell Breaker, he throws Mantaro into the floor, and then tries to take his face, but suddenly, Mantaro’s face starts to glow up, destroying a part of Hanzo’s blade. Seeing how he can use his trademark technique on him, he simply decides to do an Avalanche Style Frankensteiner, making him fall into the abyss.

Thinking he has won, Hanzo goes to retrieve his lantern, but the fire of it makes him remember his past traumas, and after Mantaro miraculously returns into scene, he sends his puppet to attack him. But realizing the secret behind it, Mantaro lands a series of blows into it, which also affects Hanzo. Since it was getting dark, they start to light up torches, making Hanzo remember again his accident with fire, sending him into a crisis.

Recovering from it, Hanzo uses his pinwheel attack again, but this time, Mantaro manages to quickly avoid it, making the pinwheel open a hole in the floor, right before taking Hanzo out of it, initiating his Muscle Millennium, but this time, using the hole instead of the ropes. Mantaro eventually defeats Hanzo with the Muscle Millennium Driver (which require but a single set of ropes to perform). [7]This defeats and breaks Hanzo’s mask, revealing his appearance to the spectators. After the match, Mantaro saves Hanzo from falling through the mat and ties The Ninja’s scarf around his head to cover his disfigured face from the crowd, gaining the flame of self-sacrifice in doing so. [8] Grateful but before his incarceration, Hanzo warns Mantaro that his final opponent, Bone Cold, far supersedes both Fork the Giant and himself in terms of strength and malice. [8]

Demon Seed Arc[]

During the Demon Seed Arc, Hanzo is granted a one-time release from his prison on Planet Kinniku in order to help the Idol Chojins defeat General Terror. [9]

The Demon Seed reveal there are General Palasts across Japan, and - after using tentacles to kidnap the Army of Idols - take their individual opponents to their specific Palasts. [10] The General Palast breaks into five pieces, with each Death-Match Room going to the new locations. [11] Gepparand takes his match to Chuse on Shimokoshii Island, to a place called Napoleon Rock, which transforms into "Hidden Palast General Face". He is temporarily fooled by Hanzo who hides as the ring rises, and uses it as an opportunity to get in the first attack. He throws Gepparland into the ocean, but Gepparland rises sans his disguise and jumps out from the waters. [11]

Gepparland throws a part of Meat Alexandria high onto a column, before he bites into Hanzo's throat to drink his blood. [12] Hanzo counters with an Emerald Flowsion, even as i causes part of his throat to be ripped out, before he delivers a series of punches and a Fiend Collar Choke. After Hanzo attempts an Arm Hold, Gepparland uses a Bloody Mary. Hanzo uses a Puppet Doll Technique to lock Gepparland into a Full Nelson; Gepparland is thrown into the water, but this enables him to engage in a Rolling Water technique. [12]

Gepparland leaps back into the ring with a Hijack Back Breaker, but the fin on his head turns into a buzz-saw, for a Buzz Saw in attack. [13] This cuts into Hanzo's back and exposes his bones. A rain of blood descends upon the ring, until Hanzo flips forward and stops the fin-blade with his feet; Hanzo uses a Jackhammer and then a Slaughterhouse Saw-Blade. Gepparaland stops the attack with a Horn Blade, but - due to how Hanzo dodges - it misses all the vital organs. They land in the ocean, where Hanzo turns part of the scarf into a sailboat and ploughs into Gepparland. After a series of blows, both are submerged in the waters. [13]

Gepparland chokes Hanzo underwater, but Hanzo uses his Bewitching Blade. [13] The slice of the blade releases spherical balls from Gepparland's body, which Gepparland sucks inside him with Mouth Brooder. [14] Gepparland turns his eyes white and unleashes his Spit Micro Geppar. The babies eat through Hanzo's armour and mask, which exposes his face and dredges up traumatic memories, and the baby fish also start to eat away at his Bewitching Blade. Hanzo sinks to the ocean floor after a series of bloody attacks. [14]

The ghost of The Ninja appears to Hanzo created from the scarf Mantaro gave to him. [15] Hanzo is inspired by The Ninja and feigns fatigue, as he begs Gepparland for a swift death, and Gepparland uses a Rolling Water, which pushes Hanzo back towards the surface. Hanzo uses the rock as a grindstone, as he embeds his sword within it along the journey back to the top. [15] He uses his blade to murder Gepparland's babies. [16] They engage in a series of blows, which brings them back to the ring, as Gepparland is enraged by the deaths of thousands of his children. Hanzo falls flat on his face and convulses, but the power of friendship - as the audience cheers him on - brings him back from the brink. [16]

Hanzo creates a balloon from The Ninja's scarf, which blocks Gepparland's cannon arm, and this thus explodes and sends him catapulting back into the waters below. Hanzo then creates a life-size puppet from the water, forcing Gepparland back into the ring. [16] Hanzo wins with a Bell Crack. [17]

This is not enough to sate Hanzo's bloodlust.

He turns to a twitching Gepparland and uses his Bewitching Blade to cut off the fly on his chin, which disfigures Gepparland, and Hanzo says he no longer desires to cut off people's faces. [17] The General Stone inside Gepparland flees his body, as the disembodied voice of Satan chastises him, and the horn of the mountain structure falls down, which impales both Gepparland and Hanzo. Before Hanzo dies, he throws the box with Meat's body towards Mantaro to be kept safe. [17] They collapse together in the waters, as Hanzo's mask floats to the surface, and Meat's left arm returns to his torso.

Hanzo is later resurrected by the Reborn Diamond
