Beth Yeshurun pickleball tournament open to community
Congregation Beth Yeshurun is holding its first-ever Pickleball Fundraiser Tournament, set to take place on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Zone. This inaugural event promises to be a day of fun, friendly competition and community spirit, all while supporting a meaningful cause: the restoration and repair of Beth Yeshurun’s sacred Torah scrolls, as part of its ReJEWvenation project.
Chaired by Myles Siegel and Brian Bergeron, the tournament is open to players of all skill levels and ages, including mixed doubles. Whether you’re a seasoned pickleball pro or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to connect with friends, family and fellow community members in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
The entry fee is $100 per player, with all proceeds directly benefitting the Torah project. This vital initiative focuses on the long-term preservation and restoration of Beth Yeshurun’s sacred Torah scrolls, ensuring these treasures remain a source of inspiration for future generations.
This event also offers businesses, families and individuals a valuable opportunity to sponsor and play a key role in maximizing Beth Yeshurun’s fundraising efforts. Sponsorship packages offer recognition and exposure to pickleball enthusiasts.
“We’re proud to bring this new and engaging event to the community,” said Siegel. “Pickleball has become such a popular sport, and this tournament is a great way for people of all ages to come together, have fun and support an important project that touches the heart of our synagogue.”
Bergeron echoed the sentiment. “Our goal is to create a special day of camaraderie and connection while raising the necessary funds for the ReJEWvenation project,” he said. “We hope this will become a beloved annual tradition.”
In addition to tournament play, players and spectators can look forward to refreshments, great company and the satisfaction of contributing to an important cause.
