7 Small Patio Decor Ideas to Steal!
Seven small patio decor ideas to refresh your balcony, deck or patio on a budget with shoppable outdoor furniture.
I’m on a kick designing outdoor living spaces this year. I want to encourage you to create a beautiful, relaxing, and romantic patio. Even if you only have a tiny balcony, you can set up an outdoor living space you love. Here’s my guide to everything you need to set up an outdoor dining space.
Small Patio Decor Essentials
- patio bistro set or chat set
- outdoor lighting
- outdoor rug
- shade and/or privacy
- plants
- outdoor throw pillows and blankets (optional)
I’ve put together seven different small patio designs to help get your creative juices flowing. Feel free to steal the looks! They’re all inexpensive products available online!
Plants & Vertical Gardens
No outdoor living space is complete without plants. They can create privacy from neighbors, provide shade, dampen road noise (or whatever other obnoxious noise you may have), and make your patio feel like your own private oasis.
I sometimes use artificial plants undercover outside, depending on the climate and season. If you have the natural light and want real plants, then by all means grow some!
I also love to use vertical gardens. These are especially useful for disguising or dressing up ugly fences and concrete walls. They’re also perfect for small spaces. This vertical garden uses an inexpensive planter from Amazon, and here’s a DIY vertical garden we built.

Thanks so much Crissy!!!
Hey, after completing the entire article, I just loved the way the writer did justice to all the topics or points that had to be covered in this post. These days I come across too many posts where there is no link between the headline and the body of the content. But in your post, I loved the way you connected each topic with the other. I am Tweeting this post as I simply find it useful and shareworthy!
Adding as much greenery to a patio as possible sounds like an extremely interesting idea. This way, we could feel connected to nature and enjoy the fragrances of plant life and flowers while relaxing with a nice drink. I’ll cover up that patio with any canvas canopies I can find from a home store in the area to make sure the plants won’t get too damaged.
Great article! I love your decor ideas. I’m also planning to put a patio shade. What things should I consider before getting one? Thanks!
I love reading about outdoor patios and seeing other people’s ideas. So many possibilities!
Thank you!
