Super fun game, we actually streamed it live but kept getting stuck right after the chemical stripper with the monster hand. The game freezes with a black screen while we could still hear the eerie chanting. We restarted the game and tried again but the same thing happened. Any fixes for this? Would love to play to the end!
Hello Leh Car ! Thank you very much :-) This bug is driving me crazy. I never knew how to fix it and it is rare. Apparently it would be related to the player's set. But since everyone never has the same one, it's complicated to know what's wrong with the set of players to whom it happens. I suggest you try to launch the game on another browser. Come and see me if you have any other questions, you are welcome. I hope it will work.
Bonjour.
This kicks ass! As someone who grew up on Nancy Drew and point and click flash games, this brought back some great memories and was super enjoyable to play. It really nails that 'classic point and click horror game' vibe while still feeling fresh and without having any of the annoying parts many of those games had. Really love the graphics too, very pretty looking. I really liked the puzzle with the diary page and the door, very cool! My only complaint is that the loading time between screens can get a little irritating at times, it would be nice if it changed length depending on whether it was a new room or not. I'd love to see more of this! Will probably play it again so I can get a perfect score and get a perfect investigation level(I wonder if that unlocks an alternate ending?) Overall, extremely fun and enjoyable experience.
Hello botflytime :-) I really like long, full posts, like this one. Just for that, thank you ^^. I played a lot of point n click horror flash games 10 years ago. I wanted to do mine with more modern technologies. I wanted a simple plot in the style of classic horror stories and easy gameplay. It was so that the few non-gaming friends for whom the game was originally intended would not get bored after 2 minutes. It was only afterwards that I understood that it could interest more people and that I hired a translator for the English version. But basically, the game was thought of as a little extra for a late Halloween night.
For the transitions between rooms, I coded the game so that the speed adapts to the refresh rate of the player's screen. The speed is related to the power of the machine used by the player. I haven't found a better solution yet. But it must exist.
Thank you very much for playing, botflytime !Come back to this page whenever you want, you are welcome :-) Greetings from France.
But that at a price and the game is free. Outside of the Spanish part of South America, nobody or very few people came to ask for a specific translation. I see other countries playing it in English. If one day, among the requests, a country stands out again more than the others, I would work again with a translator to enrich the game. I wish that would happen again :-)
Thanks for playing, Taha ! :-) Greetings from France.
The game was awesome! And the cutscenes were really cool!!! It really shows that a lot of effort went into this game, no exaggeration but those were one of best 20 minutes I've ever spent in my life! Thank you for this game!
It's nice ! Thank you so much ! :-) Yes, I tried to apply myself on what I could to compensate for the linearity of the story. This is my very first game. Thanks again and greetings from France !
wow that was really cool think I figured out what was going on in the house a little before the ending but none the less great game. nice style. will play again bc my investigation score was low.
Your score in the game may have been low, but if you tell me that you understood the story before the end, it means that your true investigation score is good :-) Thank you very much for playing. Come back whenever you want, you are welcome, cool-guy ! Greetings from France :-D
Thank you very much for this video and thank you very much for playing my game ! :-D
I'm going to talk about another subject but the title and the typography of the 1st game made me believe in an adaptation of the movie Esther... Never mind ^^ Thanks again and greetings from France ! :-)
I didn't expect a free game to be so great! It's pretty easy to finish, but the gameplay is realllllllly good. The tension and mysterious aura are just *chef's kiss*. I'm glad it's not just jumpscare based game, tho some of them really got me :')
Got 33/35 in first game so I'll definitely play again to get all of them! Thank you for such an amazing work :D
Thank you so much Liibro ! :-) I'm really happy that you appreciated my game. Your score is very good. Looking back I tell myself that I could have found another system than this one for obtaining the secret ending. It's a bit frustrating. Anyway... Thanks again Liibro and greetings from France :-D
Hello HGD ! :-D I am really sorry. I noticed while watching your video that you had the right to one of the only 2 bugs that I have never been able to eliminate. It rarely happens, but depending on certain conditions related to the player's set, the game items appear in pure white and this is not normal. Thank you very much for your post HGD and greetings from France ! :-)
Hello Krisz :-) I really liked your video. The fact that we see you making several attempts before getting 35/35, your comments on certain technical or script details, etc. Thank you very much for your patience and congratulations for your work. Greetings from France :-D
Loved this game! Atmospheric, scary, but knows how to do a buildup and leaves things mysterious. I jumped more then a few times. I have one question though. After (SPOILERS BUT BASICALLY AT THE ENDISH OF THE GAME) If you go back to where the door was, there seems to be something written. I don't speak french, so I put it through google translate, but I just got "tune should no longer be" which doesn't mean anything. Is it some sort of secret?
You just found one of the most hidden easter eggs in the game. The message you see carved on the wall says, "You shouldn't be here anymore."
I am impressed. I think you are the first to mention it. There are other easter eggs like this that don't impact the game. I like to scatter little things like that into what I create.
Thank you again and well done! Greetings from France Bob :-D
I watched your video last night. Well done and thank you very much! :-D Sorry for this fucking bug. It is rare and I never knew what caused it. Greetings from France, Myroze !
No worries haha! It seemed to work in Google chrome instead of opera so maybe something with that? Really enjoyed it alot though! Greetings from the Netherlands :D
HELLO JULIEN. ITS BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF SENSE IVE RETURNED TO THIS GAME, BUT ID LIKE TO GIVE A STRONG AND SINCERE THANKS. YOU HAVE CARRIED BE THROUGHOUT MY RECENT SCHOOL YEARS.
WHENEVER I HAD THE TIME, I WOULD PLAY THIS GAME WITH MY FRIENDS. WE WOULD HAVE A GOOD LAUGH, AND A GOOD SCARE. THE ONE FRIEND ID PLAY WITH HAD RECENTLY MOVED AWAY, AND WE HAVE SINCE HAVENT BE ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH. I STILL HAVE MY OTHER FRIENDS,
BUT PLAYING THIS GAME MAKES ME SAD, BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF THOSE TIMES. THIS GAME WAS GOOD. IT STILL, TODAY, IS MY FAVORITE HORROR GAME. IM OLD NOW. IVE RECENTLY TURNED 15. I WANT YOU TO KNOW, YOU ARE MY FAVORITE CREATOR.
YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME TO TRY AND MAKE MY OWN HORROR GAME. YOUR WORK IS AMAZING, AND IM GRATEFUL TO HAVE ACSESS TO SUCH A AMAZING WORK OF ART.
I just saw your response after 4 months. When I first read it, it was so full of kindness and good feelings that I said to myself "this is too good to be true, someone must be playing a prank on me"
But if it's true, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your answer Evie. I hope all is well with you. I wish you lots of happiness and success in whatever you want to create.
The graphics were incredible. The game was fun and spooky. There were just enough jumpscares to keep it interesting without being a crutch. I really enjoyed this.
Hello VQ :-) I tried to measure things. A bit like a cooking recipe. It makes me very happy when people notice it. Thank you very much and greetings from France.
Love this game! At times I thought it was actually real. One of the best free horror game I've played in a while, if you enjoy good quality horror games then this is definitely a must play!
This was incredible. Even for a point-and-click game, this got me terrified thinking was in the next room. I won't forget this, so will you be making any more points and click more?
Hello Stormzo :-D
I watched your let's play last night. Bravo and thank you for making a video on my game. It's the kind of thing that always makes me happy ^^. I want to keep making games but I don't know when and I don't know what gameplay I would choose :^) Thanks again and greetings from France !
This was really good! I used to play a lot of these types of games when I was younger. Now I know that they still scare the crap out of me. It's one of those that leaves a lasting impression. Nice bathroom scene by the way ;)
Thanks you very much kittycatjessi ! :-) Around 2010 I was playing short games of this type, themselves inspired by the point n click of the 90s. That's what made me want to make this little game. I'm glad you like it. Thanks again and greetings from France !
i came back to play this game after a while (still an amazing game) then red the comments and just love how you just respond to everyones posts and i think that really admirable
Hello Watormalon :) You and all the other players allowed me to prove to me that I could tinker with a project in my corner, which could appeal to a community of players. Responding to a short message each time, even in broken English (google translation), is a pleasure for me and a form of thanks. Maybe one day that will change. We'll see. Thanks again Wator !
Thank you so much for playing my game and taking the time to make this video. I watched until the end. good job ! And it's nice of you to dwell on the names of the participants of the game. Sorry for my english and greetings from France ! :)
Greetings from America! this is a great game and I loved making a video on it! Especially that it was my first video (with edits) thats not minecraft. It was a lovely game and hope to play more from you in the future!
bro when i saw the game at first i thought the game was gonna be dumb, but your game was so SICK!! bro its the best game i had ever played in my entire life. waiting for the sequel.
The difference in temperature between your 1st and your second opinion is brutal ^^ Thank you so much for playing my game and for this comment, LCA :^D Greetings from France !
That's nice :) But it was just a little game with a good atmosphere. Enough to cover a few minutes in a boring evening. But that's not bad for a first. Take good care of yourself LCA.
Nice short game you got here. I had played it in class and ended up getting jump-scared XD. I see all of the hard work you put into making this game but I have a few suggestions. First, please give our man a face to see in the mirror. It will give a sense of visual imagination when the heads are revealed. Like what would his head look like on there? Second, sequel? If you do make one please make it about a cop investigating the disappearances. Third, I want to see the monster outside. Do you think you could add an animation for that in the future? Overall very good game though.
Hello Kay :-D Thank you so much for this message and for your feedback. I'll answer it so you can understand some of my choices.
(I am French. I translate this message with google trad. Sorry if you find something a little strange there ^^)
I chose not to show the character's face and never leave any clues as to their gender because for me, the person had to be the player. The head you can best visualize at the end is simply your own. Of course, this narrative method / artistic choice has its limits and is not perfect.
I wouldn't do a direct sequel to this game and your storyline idea made me feel good because it reminded me of the ideas I had when I was 20 and I really liked that time of my life. Today I have a slightly different approach. My style would be more to create a new game in the same universe but without a direct link (it's a choice that I hold from a writer that I like very much. H.P. Lovecraft).
For the creature that you don't see and that roams outside the house, I wanted to make it as simple as possible by playing on the player's imagination. The most important thing for me was to find a good excuse so that the player/character couldn't do what everyone would have the good sense to do in this kind of situation (break a window and get the hell out of this place).
But to be honest, if I had to make a long version of this game I think I would add a complete scene where we should interact with this creature. So I agree with you on that.
Again thank you very much for playing my game and for taking the time to take an interest in it enough to give me all this feedback. Take good care of yourself and greetings from France !
XD yes I understand. You know, the truth is here in France I have to concentrate it on other priorities and that leaves me little time to create a game. I especially had time to make this one because there was the confinement and I no longer had a job at that time.
Thank you very much Ganteo260 :-) I really appreciate. Point'n click and horror generally reach a small audience (especially in my country, in France). Knowing that it was able to please so many people, even today makes me really happy. Thanks again and greetings from France !
i cant open the colored door, it only ever says that i made a mistake, but i watched a few youtube videos to see if i had the correct order (i did) and it still wouldn't open. im on a chromebook browser.
I think you understood the riddle and the order of the colors (White - Green - Orange - Blue). Did you click on the central button (the one with the key) at the end?
I don't understand. In nearly a year and a half out of nearly 100,000 players, never once has anyone come to tell me about such a bug. Sorry for not being able to help you more. I would almost need a video of your part to be able to understand. I can't guarantee you anything but you should try to play on another browser (if you haven't already).
This was a really fun 20 minutes. The atmosphere was setup pretty well. The monsters looked pretty goofy though lol The jump scares were pretty well telegraphed too so if you payed attention while playing, there wasn't much concern with getting caught off gaurd by a jump scare.
Thanks Sfunk92 :-) I'm someone who doesn't like jumpscare. Especially when they are poorly integrated into a story. My thing is rather the deceptively comfortable atmosphere. When a warm place becomes more and more disturbing.
Thank you so much for playing my game and greetings from France !
I agree about jump scares. Not really a fan of that style of horror. I think you did pretty well with building up the atmosphere. Especially with the segments were you made the player walk through hallways that looked like it should be 1 click, but ended up being multiple small steps through the hall, building up the intensity of expectation.
Are you talking about an option that makes the text boxes follow each other automatically, or an option that would read the text instead of the player ? I'm having a little trouble understanding your idea. I am French.
yes I understand your idea, thank you for answering :).
At the time, I very quickly eliminated the idea of automatic dialogues because it risked harming reading comfort for people who might have encountered difficulties such as lack of practice in reading, sight problems, dyslexia, etc... It was also more practical to give foreign players time to translate the text.
Suddenly manual reading had so many advantages that I did not even consider another way to do it as a bonus option.
I've got to say I really enjoyed it! It's got a great atmosphere. The eerie vibes are well done and ever-present!
It does a better job at being creepy than 90% of Hollywood movies! Also, the ending was nice too! The pacing and the final shot, conveys so much without beating you in the head with exposition!
Well done! If you ever consider making something longer you've got a buyer right here!
It's my very first game and I wanted to compensate for its linearity with staged elements. I intend to create another game. Probably still on the theme of the "haunted house". I'm still thinking.
Thanks again ! I really appreciated your comment, omnixo. Greetings from France.
Please do not keep us in the dark if once the game goes into testing phase and of course, when it gets eventually released. Would love to support an independent dev!
Thank you very much Watormalon :-) It makes me very happy to know that my work has been able to bring some good moments to other people. I imagine the sadistic moment when you wait to see the reaction of your friends ^^. Thanks again and greetings from France.
Around a year ago, I played this game and I loved it. It scared me so bad I unplugged my microphone accidentally and lost the rest of the audio for the recording! I wanted to wait until I forgot about the game to play it again because I really wanted to make a video about this game, it was that good.
I finally got around to replaying it and thankfully I didn't lose audio this time but I did get just as scared, if not more, than last time. You probably don't need me to tell you this but this is an amazing horror game. I consider this to be 10/10 horror. I think other indie horror games should aspire to be as good as this one. The style, the atmosphere, the monsters, the scares, the story, etc. everything is done so well.
(I post you here the comment that I put under your YouTube video. Thank you again for all your compliments. They made me very happy ! :3)
It's awesome ! Great job on the video editing. You managed to make the experience more dynamic. I remember very well seeing your first video and it made me laugh a lot at the time ^^. Thank you so much for playing my game and greetings from France, WoodyRun ! :D
Hello Patchook :-D Yeah... This f****** bug. It is relatively rare and seems to be caused by some type of setup. In reality, I never found a solution to this bug and these are my main regrets about this little game.
I'm glad you found a solution :) Thank you so much for playing and thank you for your comment.
This a very nice horror short. I have an issue with the investigation count though: I had 34/35 on my first play and then I played again and found a new interactable but at the end i still get 34/35. Is this a counting bug maybe? Or do I need to click more specific?
Hello Kharon27 ! Thank you very much :-) I just redid the game to avoid answering you nonsense. I clicked on the 35 areas counting for the final score and they were counted. No need to click precisely. If the dialog box appears when you click, it's ok.
Sorry but I think that despite the fact that you found a new interactable, there is a very very strong chance that you simply forgot one that you hadn't forgotten during your first game. The score falls back to 0 with each new game. It is not added to the score of the previous part.
Hah, I was pretty sure to click on everything again but you may be right. Or it's possible that some of them don't count in the 35 important ones and I'm just completely missing one.
Still very nice idea, I really enjoyed it. It's got a mix of old flash games nostalgia with the added bonus of revisiting previous areas for new interactions (never saw that before in browser games). If you work some more on the complexity of the puzzle you're going towards Amnesia/Layers of Fear territory. I think it would be cool to have something like that easily accessible (no download required). Let me know when you get on mobile :D
Yes I completely forgot to tell you. Not all clickable areas count for scoring. I chose 35 specific ones. It was basically to reward and encourage players to observe small details, small foreshadowing, etc.
Thank you very much for everything you tell me here. I really appreciate !
It's actually a game that pays homage to the flash horror game I played about 10 years ago. I don't know yet if there will be a mobile version in the end... But I would like to. Thanks again Kharon27 !

Responding to a short message each time, even in broken English (google translation), is a pleasure for me and a form of thanks.
Maybe one day that will change. We'll see.
Thanks again Wator !
Made a video.
This game was great
Hello goldie_paws :D
Thank you so much for playing my game and taking the time to make this video. I watched until the end. good job ! And it's nice of you to dwell on the names of the participants of the game.
Sorry for my english and greetings from France ! :)
Greetings from America! this is a great game and I loved making a video on it! Especially that it was my first video (with edits) thats not minecraft. It was a lovely game and hope to play more from you in the future!
bro when i saw the game at first i thought the game was gonna be dumb, but your game was so SICK!! bro its the best game i had ever played in my entire life. waiting for the sequel.
The difference in temperature between your 1st and your second opinion is brutal ^^
Thank you so much for playing my game and for this comment, LCA :^D
Greetings from France !
Oops sorry about that, I didn't mean it. I was just trying to mean that this game should be given the game of the year award.
That's nice :) But it was just a little game with a good atmosphere. Enough to cover a few minutes in a boring evening. But that's not bad for a first.
Take good care of yourself LCA.
wait a min this is your first game
Yes. I developed it during the confinement periods of autumn and winter 2021, in France.
Take good care of yourself and greetings from France !
where are you
In my room. I'm sitting at my desk and answering your question while drinking a glass of red wine (I'm not kidding).
hahaha very true. am asking the developer because we didn't hear something new since this game
XD yes I understand. You know, the truth is here in France I have to concentrate it on other priorities and that leaves me little time to create a game. I especially had time to make this one because there was the confinement and I no longer had a job at that time.
Hm, this is a really awesome game and all, but I can't seem to figure out that chest code. I'm not even sure how to find what it is 😭
Thank you Lynn ! ^^
There are small invitation cards in a safe in the basement. Take a good look at them... :-)
I loved it! I really like these point and click games, well done!
Thank you very much Ganteo260 :-)
I really appreciate.
Hello xxli.
I think you understood the riddle and the order of the colors (White - Green - Orange - Blue). Did you click on the central button (the one with the key) at the end?
yes, i did.
Thanks Sfunk92 :-)
I'm someone who doesn't like jumpscare.
And hello from the USA!
Beautiful game but I wish there was a option in the settings for auto play on the text.
Hello MarrymeZenitsu :-)
Are you talking about an option that makes the text boxes follow each other automatically, or an option that would read the text instead of the player ?
I'm having a little trouble understanding your idea. I am French.
An option to automatically play the text one after each other.
yes I understand your idea, thank you for answering :).
Thank you so much, omnixo :-)
It's my very first game and I wanted to compensate for its linearity with staged elements. I intend to create another game. Probably still on the theme of the "haunted house". I'm still thinking.
Thanks again ! I really appreciated your comment, omnixo.
Greetings from France.
Please do not keep us in the dark if once the game goes into testing phase and of course, when it gets eventually released. Would love to support an independent dev!
This is the kind of message that feels good. Thank you so much omnixo :-)
This game is simply.... AMAZING. I beat it soo many times and was still frightened, goofed, and got great moments watching my friends play it
Thank you very much Watormalon :-)
It makes me very happy to know that my work has been able to bring some good moments to other people.
You've made a masterpiece.
Thank you for making it!
My game has turned black after i pick up the tool :( (I'm on firefox)
I started again on chrome and no problem, great game btw! :)
Hello Patchook :-D
Yeah... This f****** bug. It is relatively rare and seems to be caused by some type of setup. In reality, I never found a solution to this bug and these are my main regrets about this little game.
I'm glad you found a solution :) Thank you so much for playing and thank you for your comment.
Greetings from France, Pat !
best game ive ever played.
Are you absolutely sure ?... XD
Thank you so much for playing and for your comment evie :-)
Greetings from Fance.
omg no way you replied i love your work!!!!!!! i am so sure :)
Followed the pattern on the box but- it didn't open??
Hello :-)
You haven't fully followed it. Observe the shapes around the patterns.
Excellent work, Julien. I made a gameplay on my youtube channel. I really liked!
Olá predas ! :-)
This a very nice horror short. I have an issue with the investigation count though: I had 34/35 on my first play and then I played again and found a new interactable but at the end i still get 34/35. Is this a counting bug maybe? Or do I need to click more specific?
Hello Kharon27 ! Thank you very much :-)
I just redid the game to avoid answering you nonsense.
Looking back I find this system too frustrating.
