not too many elements from the horror section

the game doesn't hold the tense which I would expect from most games that don't have jumpscares

running function cool, too bad that the use needed only at the very end of the game

In general, the game as a game, nicely optimized, pleasant camera movements, good graphics, sound design at a good level

still, however, lacked those “horror” elements

One of the best submissions. Elevator descending into hell / madness / ...etc is a good plot device, done in a good way here.

The end with the unborn child was some crazy f**** up stuff - and fitting for the game.

Gameplay is minimal but it's not a problem since walking-sim horrors can be really great, especially at storytelling since it's their focus among the atmoshpere and here both was greatly done.

Thank you for your kind words! Glad you liked the game, even with the child haha!

I really liked the way this was presented, the subtle bits of horror and trauma being shown the way they were was incredibly clever and I loved how it was done. However, with the ending, I felt a bit confused. I thought it was about two very distinct traumas and the MC's way of dealing with them. But maybe it's more about fears instead? SPOILERS: The way I saw it, the MC came from a messy divorced household where the parents were abusive to each other and the MC. Then the MC's partner had a miscarriage. At least that's how I interpreted it. But at the end they are saying 'I will do everything I can for this kid' so is it just they are fearful of the kid having a broke home? The text messages REALLY made it seem like a lost pregnancy that the MC was being blamed for. But I dunno. Maybe I read too much into things. Still, I really did like how this was presented.

Yay, We've been excited to see you play!

Your theory about what happened to the main character, with all this trauma in his life is entirely correct. He has lived a life of trauma and is dealing with that, the only thing was that the end text is not about a potential future child but about his younger inner child that he wants to heal. So your predictions about the story was entirely correct! :D I'll paste the end text here again if you wanna re-read, it can be a bit cryptic after just have been chased by a big baby haha.

"But somewhere in all this pain is a small child.
A younger me not understanding why it hurts.
Enveloped by an older me, a scarred and hardened me.
A me that will do everything in my power to give that kid the life he deserves.
And I’ll push every button to get there."

Thank you so much for your kind words, for playing and for hosting this awesome jam! We've had a lot of fun!

OK...now it makes more sense. It was the INNER child they wanted to protect. I think I will adjust the rating I gave the story, then, now that I fully understand.
Again, really liked the subtle touches (the cracked model was IMO absolutely genius)

The story is very good, told in small parts, initially unconnected but which form a story as you go down. Graphically it is spectacular, and the animation is spot on. The work scene. The effect enlarging the boss was great! Simply surprising the amount of detail it has for the time that there was.

Ah, I see why the main character has a hard time staying level-headed. 10/10 spooky atmosphere with a nice side of existential dread.

Thank you so much! Yeah he got some baggage🙃

I am in awe of how good this game is. from the visual style to the storytelling, it is all top tier. I am obsessed with the commitment to the demake aesthetic that you guys pulled off and it is truly inspiring. the story is remarkably personal and i left this experience feeling touched and moved. Incredible job guys.
