Holy moley that was a really cool experience! I absolutely love the way that there are only 3 core mechanics and how the game plays, it is an excellent use of simplicity and a very cool way of rendering a 2d-ish space to combine to make a fascinating atmosphere. This is a brilliant execution of a simple premise, good job! I did win and photograph everything I ought to have. Uh, what was the white substance tho.....?
Hey thank you so much for the kind words! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed my game.
The white stuff is a preservative substance the big bird produced to keep the baby food fresh for longer since they don't get hikers every day and it's their favorite food. This is why there was no nasty rotting smell around the bodies.
..... or that's the setting I came up with after I made a mistake lol Originally, I wanted the later area to be foggy and snowy, but I had run out of time and ditched that idea. When I was drawing the pile of bodies, I briefly forgot that I wasn't doing snow anymore. By the time I realized that, it was a little late to undo the snow pile and I kind of liked how the bodies would stand out in the dark forest due to the white paints, I came up with an excuse (a gross one at that) to keep it.
Now that's an innovation! A unique thing came into being due to restraints, cool to see.
I really liked the look of the game, the mechanics, especially taking photos, are very interesting, and the sounds are very good. I hope more people play your game and comment( ̄︶ ̄)/
Aw thank you so much, Kuraishimi!
I love how you can indeed use the camera however you want, I didn't know how to react to the naked dude so I just took a picture at first lol. But this was great, the mood was good not only because of the uncertainty of what lies ahead but also for the effective sounds and ambiences. The game was condensed well done package, great work! (Also that bad ending animation, mega good lol)
Ahh it's a shame it didn't occur to me to make the person photographable! Thank you so much for playing. I'm glad you liked it!
I like it very much with 3 mechanics (take pictures, hide and walk) you have managed to make interesting dynamics, good submission!
I'm very happy that you thought so! Thank you so much for playing!
Fantastic! Great art, unique take on the horror genre and well thought out mechanics, from balancing picture taking and hiding to plenty of audio and visual cues that keep the player informed without holding their hand. Gotta love Bush Guy Absolutely enjoyed it!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for taking the time to play my game and leaving thoughtful comment!
I loved this :) The crackling sound is super spooky/foreboding and it was fun to take pictures of everything. The achievements were a nice touch and I felt obligated to get them all (which I did woohoo!) Great job
Yay! You saw the baby! Thank you for checking out my game, Nezumirra. I'm glad you had fun!
As an avid photographer if I see bigfoot and have access to a camera you can BET I will be the first to die taking photos of it. Had a lot of fun playing! Really like the designs of the creatures. Hope to see the escape ending if there are any plans to finish it after the jam.
Hey Redcakes, thanks for playing my game. I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
The Survivor ending is the silliest one that can only be achieved when you first start the game. I do regret making it unachievable later on! (Making it so was so unnecessary lol)
