great art!
cool game with nice voice acting.
Great concept and execution.
Some feedback I have:
I think the art and sound is cute and silly.
Stylish!
Great art and animation! Very creative Idea!
The effects on the base deck are a bit too complicated to understand how to play well as a first time player. I got the hang of it after the second time I died. Maybe have in the starting deck an easy combo, but relatively weak compared to the late game ones, could have helped. Also have key word (like the ones in magic) or symbols that mean always the same thing could have eased the cognitive load. Imho a bit more playtest on the UX might be needed.
Other than that this is a very solid game for a game jam, I hope you continue working on it after the voting period is over, bravo!
Nailed the aesthetic! really stylish, fun game!
Great game ! Very fun and amusing !
This is very addictive.. Love the style, vibes, everything! Very clever mechanic, reminds me a bit of Balatro. Took me a second to realise where the king was that I was moving, but when I got it I was all-in. Did I mention the style is SUPER cool?
Very fun and silly lil game :3 Loved the art style and little animations, and the turn based combat was done pretty well. Good job!
Definitely has style! There's definitely some strong bones that with further refinement would make for a good, goofy game!
Hey, realy nice take !
loved the Art style and the concept is realy cool, unlocking the actions little by little,
For a bit of feedback, I think there is no need of the "moove" system
I mean you can keep the "unlock from the inside" thoo this is the core gameplay that I loved, but the fact that you have to move 1 case by one case when you only have few can take me out of the experience.
Anyway I had a realy great time on it, I think it can be pushed further !
Thanks a lot for your comment!
I was thinking about a mechanic where, when you click on a piece of food, the king checks if there's a path available to reach it, and then he quickly follows the path to eat it.
yes IT can be eat ;)
I was thinking of the king been aside too like the enemy and picking food from there (I've seen a comment and I join him/her that at first I was thinking the King was also a piece of food at the start, didn't realised he was in the center of the grid)
Aswell of "highlight" the foods that can be reachable could be a good idea too to facilitate the life of the player
I'm just throwing out the ideas I had when playing, I know its a lot of reworks ^^",
but I think it means it has a lot of potential ;)
The fact that you talk about meticulous details shows that you have consideration for the game, and as a result, I believe that this kind of comment is ultimately the most encouraging! Thanks again!
Really great work! Very unique gameplay for the jam.
Why is this game so fun? The art is so cute! I was confused on who I was at the start of the game, I didn't know I was the king in the middle. Maybe add something around the king that moves to catch your eye? Still very cute loved it! Need more!
There are definitely a lot of UI and visibility issues that I'm already working on fixing right now. Thanks again for your feedback, it helps a lot!
The interface was a bit confusing at first and I didn't even notice there was a king in the middle. But after I spent some time reading everything, excellent risk and reward design with appropriate difficulty really got me. Can't wait to see the expanded full game and I'll immediately buy it!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the risk and reward design. I completely understand the initial confusion with the interface. I'm already working on making things clearer, including making the king more noticeable. Your support means a lot, and I'm excited to keep improving the game. I can't wait to share the expanded version with you!
This was super cool! The premise was neat, the art was neat, the give and take mechanic of cholesterol was neat! I don't know if it fully fit into the theme, but that didn't stop me from spending quite a bit of time on it :) Well done!
I’ m really happy you liked the game !
For the theme, we thought that the idea of having a character that can be scaled from Big to skinny, depending on what he eats, and give him différent buffs depending on it’s current scale.
Would fit the theme well.
Even more if it creates different kind of strategies / builds, and if bosses require you to manage the scale in order to be defeated.
I think that if we lean more towards this direction.
We will give the cholestrol, and the scales more importance.
Anyway, thank you for playing !
I'm really sad to say that this game did not work on my computer, or my girlfriend's. The text in the pop-up bubbles was not displaying, so we had no idea what any of the food's abilities were. The screen also never resized properly, even in fullscreen, so there was no easy way to see all the UI elements at once.
I love the ideas here, the art and music are so good and create such a fun vibe! But, unfortunately, there's no way for me to play it, I'm so sorry.
We saw that it doesn’t work on some computers, mainly laptops, sorry about that.
You can use « ctrl + » or « ctrl - « to zoom in or out. the game. Thanks for your time
Ahhh, that would explain it, we were both using laptops. I'm really sorry I couldn't properly play it, looks like so much fun!
The art is super cool I loved the vibes!
The art style is amazing, the characters are full of personality! I really like the idea too of tracing the optimal route to defeat the boss.
Unfortunately, sometimes the fonts disappeared from the text boxes, so it was a bit hard to know move caused what effect.
Either way, great job!
A very quirky, humourous game with a lot of polish!
