How does your game fit the theme?
I think of this as in programming, your solution to a problem should scale for the whole project, in this game your solution to a sublevel should scale for the entire level. It has the Open-Closed Principle, Open for extension and close for modification

I think this is a really neat concept! I wish there was some easier way to see the past and future rooms. I really liked the art!

The controller is super rational and smooth. Wish I could achieve that too orz.

Maybe we can scroll to select from inventory whlie walking to pace the game?  It'll prevent the back-and-forth. Just in my view : )

love this game! Thank you for making this treat!

Thank you for playing. You should try Celeste sometimes, it's a super smooth platformer which inspired this game (we followed a youtube tutorial). I totally agreed with your suggestion, i should have make it so that you don't have to use the mouse it's annoying.

Oh i like celeste and i have seen that video ( but not having used it in my game OTL

First off good job implementing the player. It feels very good. The dash especially. The art is also nice.  The puzzles felt like a good difficulty, not obvious yet not frustrating.  You also did a good job slowly introducing your mechanics, which meant you did not need a tutorial. (BTW are sticky blocks making other blocks sticky an intended feature because it seems hidden). The one thing I would say is that the level with the spike tunnel before you get the dash for the first time is very difficult, and would be a quitting point for me if I had to go back past it to reset blocks(it possible I forced a solution that should not have been tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Just moving the dash get to that level would make it easier.  I was impressed with the number of levels it just keeps on going! Great job, congrats on your submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Now that i think about it, it should not have make too many levels, instead implement more quality of life stuff. And i think you shouldn't be able to move the dash out of that level and that's a bug. Thank you for playing!

Nice idea, forcing us to think where to put our blocks.

As others commented, maybe there could be some improvements to help modifying a level without having to unzoom and go back to a previous one. I personnally think that going to a previous level shouldn't reset your blocks, and they should always stay where you've placed them unless you proactively decide to move them.

But overall well done!

Neat idea, though really needs some explanation in-game and in the zoom its really hard to tell where things will be later on, which ends up being a bit frustrating when you have to restart. Really creative idea though well done

Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Cool take on the theme and the character feel really good ! :)

It was a bit hard to understand at first that everything stay where you put them and that you should unzoom to see what brings the next level, i was a bit frustrated to have to go back a level to try to place well my inventory for the next level. May be inventory should carry on i don't know, i think i missed a part.

But overall great idea and creativity  ;). A cool concept to explore more in depth for sure !

PS : i can't watch your youtube video, it's not working for me.

Thank you for the feedback. I was a bit burned out at the end so i overlooked the parts you mentioned, but i will notice it more in the future. Thank you for playing.

I really enjoyed Forward Thinking. It took me a while to grok what the puzzles were but boy was it lots of fun trying to go back and forth and find forward-viable solutions! TONS of content as well!

really polished. well done! the implementation of theme is really creative and i like the controls. sadly i couldnt get past level 4 due to the spring spawning in an incorrect place.

Submitted(+1)

Very smart idea and polished game. Loved the art style. The squash and stretch of the character also feel satisfying

Everything was so very well polished, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this is your first Jam. Job well done!

Nice, although one of the levels doesn't seem to be possible.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you. Also, may i ask what level is it?

Submitted(+2)

It was level 4. The spring on the right was inside a block, making it impossible to reach the exit. However, I just played the game again, and the spring seems to be in the correct place. I don't know what happened
