Short and sweet. Loved the music and art design. Some of the jumps are a bit too tight to my liking, BUT I managed to cheese it a bit by clearing out the enemies and respawning. Dunno if enemies not respawning is intentional, but it helped a lot.
Simple game with very polished mechanics and presentation, really enjoyed it Level design is great, but I think the second level is a bit confusing, I feel like I skipped some parts of it
-Fun graphics, reminds me of some doodle-guy games from the flash era.
-Beat tutorial, seems on the simple side but it's solid. The one thing I don't care for is a jump boost from shape shift mid jump, especially since such a maneuver requires using mana.
-Time it takes from pressing x to actually going through the door is too long, it should immediately start fading to black.
-The precision to jump on the ghost, and the spider to a lesser extent, feels annoying to hit consistently.
-Cat has 1 HP out of 3 always? I feel like it shouldn't have empty hearts if it never has more than one. That reminds me, there was an HP pickup, but only one time and it was out of the way to get. Seems kind of odd, why is it even there when the main thing that kills you is using all mana?
-Beat game, simple but fun. Keep up the good work.
First off, I commend you for doing a somewhat hand drawn, raster art style for this game instead of pixel art. It refreshing and it looks great! Everything is animated very nicely. The two levels in the demo feel sufficiently challenging, not too easy but not rage game levels of bs. I'm looking forward to following this one more!
Very polished mechanics that are easy to pick up but have fun and challenging depth given the level designs. Controls feel great and responsive. IMO there should be infinite transformations allowed. Because of how easy it is to restart at the circles it doesn't incentivize me to be smart about using my limited 4 abilities, instead I just clear the enemies, restart, do the cat platforming to pick up keys, and restart whenever I need another jump boost to reach something. The limit of 4 just seems very small given how fun it is to swap and ruins the momentum for me to be switching back and forth and then realizing I have to stop and restart the level because I ran out of swaps. For the same reason, no need to have the mana potions since getting a refill by restarting is quicker and simpler
Thanks for the feedback. It's a relief to hear that the controls feel good, it was my biggest concern.
As for the magic limit and checkpoints refilling it, that really is a balancing act I haven't nailed down yet. I don't want to make the game TOO easy by giving the player unlimited magic, but I'm not keen on forcing the player to always play conservatively either. I'll keep tinkering with it.
Pretty cool game. I'm not too fond of witches, but I like their pointy hats.
I'm not too good at precision platformers but I beat Super Meat Boy and the first world of Dustforce back in what feels like the middle ages. I think the controls are really good except for the shift key which feels a little awkward for when you need to z - shift - hold z.
I also found a bug where you can get stuck in platforms by shifting from cat to witch in mid air. This is easy to reproduce at the tutorial during the last jump by pressing shift close to the ceiling close to the last gate.
Finally, consider adding a way to restart the entire level. Here are my sick times.
Absolutely adore this. Gameplay is fun and very well-implemented, graphics are charming, music is excellent. Speaking of, who did the music? It gives me big Pixel/Cave Story vibes
Very enjoyable, simple game. My favorite moment was when I jumped off the cliff on stage 2 thinking I was going to cheese the game, and then proceed to land back at the start. The music is also good, and the art is coherent. Don't have any particular criticisms except that it's short.
Clean little game. I like how 'forgiving' it is with keeping some of the progress on dying. Also you got the keybinds correctly localised. Huge plus. Only consider that ISO has an additional key between shift and Z. Only real complaint I can give is that some hit boxes felt incorrect.
Main menu theme is amazing. Stayed and listened to it for a long while. Level song is good too. Controls feel intuitive and good. Not too floaty or stiff. Level 1 was good, level 2 felt a little unpolished perhaps. This was a enjoyable game! Keep working on it. Music is really on point, the rest is too.

This is really cute and fun. Good job
Beat it. It's a well made game, I don't have any complaints.

Cat is the ultimate lifeform. I've catmaxxed through level 1. Wish game was about being a cat full-time.

I found the game fun, but I did not like the transformation button being on the shift key. I'd have rather it been on C or something similar.

The music is done by me. Glad you like it!
You're quite talented.
Very short, but for a first game, it's really well made with the game feel with the graphics and music. Make more games.

Pretty comfy platformer, reminded me of flash games like Fancy Pants and N
At first, the shift key wasn't responding.
The game is fun besides that issue with the shift key I had.
