Hans Barnard Authors the First CUP/Cotsen Institute Element
“Archaeological Mapping and Planning,” by Hans Barnard, the first volume in the Cambridge University Press/Cotsen Institute Elements series, is currently freely available through the end of May. Barnard is associate researcher in the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology and associate adjunct professor, department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. This richly illustrated Element of Contemporary Archaeology introduces the reader to the basic principles of archaeological mapping and planning and presents both the mathematical and practical backgrounds, as well as many tips and tricks. It will enable archaeologists to create acceptable maps and plans of archaeological remains, even with limited means or in adverse circumstances.
