Jay McClelland receives 2024 Golden Goose Award
Jay McClelland, the Lucie Stern Professor in the Social Sciences and a professor in the Department of Psychology, and two colleagues have been awarded a 2024 Golden Goose Award recognizing how their research has contributed to the artificial intelligence of today. The work of McClelland, Geoffrey Hinton, and the late David Rumelhart on human cognition led to the parallel distributed processing (PDP) framework, which serves as the foundation for neural-network-based computational modeling.
