Peter Tshivhumbe was an influential philanthropist,[1] investor, futurist,[2] and founder of Far Zenith.[3]
History[]
Peter founded Far Zenith, funding experiments into digitizing human consciousness, which he believed would allow humans to attain immortality.[2]
Peter also worked at Zelany Capital, where he gave enthusiastic orientation speeches in costumes, telling those attending that he wanted humanity to plan for a better future, not play the odds on people's worst instincts.[1]
Legacy[]
Unfortunately, Zelany Capital's values changed away from Peter's values, no longer focusing on startups designed to lower medical costs or funding microcorps in Africa, instead, they began focusing on pharma-lites that hoard their patents, speculating in new holocurrencies, and partnering with other companies with questionable ethics.[1]
After Peter's death, leadership of Far Zenith fell to Gerard Bieri. While the work that Peter funded was abandoned, it was picked up again centuries later on Sirius when physical immortality wasn't enough for the Zeniths. In a failed experiment to achieve digital transcendence, Nemesis was created and laid waste to the colony.[4]
In the New World, information about Peter was discovered by the Quen, including his advocation for transcendence in humanity. They saw him as an Ancestor, the Patron, using knowledge from him to stifle dissension and form a society greater than the sum of its parts.[5]
Trivia[]
- Despite Peter's identity being known to other members of Far Zenith, his face remained censored to them,[3] indicating that despite his public appearances,[1] his face was not publicly known.
