Hollow Hall[1] is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds.
History[]
In the Old World[]
Long before the Faro Plague, the location that came to be known as Hollow Hall was the Visitor Center in Yellowstone National Park. It was operated by Montana Recreations (MonRec), presumably part of the state's government. The center contained a holographic display built to operate in conjunction with a series of seven collectible animal figurines depicting species that could be found in the park.
When the park was closed down and control handed over to Faro Automated Solutions for the purpose of Project Firebreak, security director Dod Blevins considered demolishing the building for the materials inside, or alternately just letting it collapse.[2] As the center was preparing to shut down, all of the special animal figurines except for the display set were returned to MonRec.
In the New World[]
At some point, the Banuk shaman Enjuk discovered one of the seven display figurines in the wilds and realized that it matched the depiction on a totem at Hollow Hall.
Enjuk has come to believe that "Montana Recreations" is the name of a single person who built the shrine to honor these animals, referring to him as "the finest natural scholar the Old World ever produced." This is largely due to his lack of ancient, pre-extinction knowledge.
