Cliffwatch is a datapoint in Horizon Forbidden West. It is the thirty-fifth item in Scanned Glyphs.

Although I have learned much about the Tenakth, I'll never truly understand the deep divide between them. Like Chief Hekarro, I see one tribe, rather than three clans. But the divide exists, there can be no doubt. My visit to Cliffwatch proved just how real it is.
The approach to the settlement is intimidating. Its ravine pass enforces a bottleneck and ends in a narrow aisle that blocks most intruders from reaching the border town proper. A mass grave of machines is the result, further complicating movement in the pass. Stepping over the metal carcasses, I instinctively feared volleys of arrows coming from the high ridges. I cannot deny that my Carja blood froze over. It is not a friendly place to outsiders.
Upon arrival, my task was to adjudicate an alleged murder. Two Sky Tenakth joined forces for the March of the Ten, a test of prowess in which pairs of climbers ascend a steep mountain to pick a flower of special significance. Only one returned. A witness claimed he saw the two partners fight atop the peak.
The survivor insisted that the victim started the brawl by insulting his honor. Most of the other Sky Tenakth seemed inclined to believe him; such disputes are common. On the other hand, there was no way to corroborate his story and killing another Tenakth without publicly challenging them is considered a crime, often punishable by death.
It was obvious to me that the survivor was lying - his eyes betrayed disdain, deceit, and guilt. His story collapsed into contradictions under a barrage of my questions. Then his shoulders sagged in resignation. The best thing for him now was a quick execution. I wasn't about to let him off so easy.
So I sentenced him to climb. Not up, but down, into the lowlands that the Sky Tenakth resent so much. Never again is he to return to the mountains, to his home. A fate worse than death. Even my Lowlander entourage recoiled at the idea. But I was unmoved. I despise liars and backstabbers. I felt no pity as I watched him slink off into exile.
