Johnny Riccaro is a character appearing as a radio DJ in Grand Theft Auto 2.
Description[]
He is the co-host of the Head Radio radio station in Anywhere City, alongside Phanny Joe Styles. Riccaro seems to have a ladies' man persona, as evidenced by his interactions with Phanny Joe Styles and his female listeners, going so far as to host a "female-only quiz' to win a chance to stay at his holiday home. He often mentions margaritas and gives them away to visitors of the station.
He is openly critical of Bula Matari's touring habits, highlighting the absurdity of a band touring "behind a live album of their last tour". He then advocates for making "way for some new blood."
Before Anna's "Do It On Your Own" begins, he states that the station producer is asleep and suggests that he has to play the track by himself, among other things. This prompts him to recall the expression, "If you want a job done right, you gotta be there and do it yourself."
When describing the theft of his car while he was away getting a vehicle accessory, he describes the irony of the situation with a partially humorous demeanor, though he sounds audibly distressed near the end of the speech when he mentions that he has to "see what [he] can do about getting another one." He remarks, "That'll be number six."
He is voiced by Bruce Kronenberg, who also voiced Frankie "The Bat" Niagara in Max Payne.
