R8 null pointer exception while making release build

I am getting below exception while making release build

> Task :app:minifyDevReleaseWithR8
AGPBI: {"kind":"error","text":"java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field \"e\" because the return value of \"com.android.tools.r8.graph.m.c(com.android.tools.r8.graph.q2)\" is null","sources":[{}],"tool":"R8"}
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field "e" because the return value of "com.android.tools.r8.graph.m.c(com.android.tools.r8.graph.q2)" is null

 
But if i commented GoogleIMA class then i can able to make release build.

Thank you for contacting IMA SDK Support Team.

I've checked Google Sample Code and able to generate release apk without any issue.
Could you try to replicate the issue by using Google Sample Code or update AGP version(8.3.2), JAVA 17 and other settings as per Google Sample Code.
