Welcome, Graduate and Professional Students!
Whether you're pursuing a master's, doctoral, or professional degree, graduate school can be one of the most exciting and challenging experiences you undertake. Formerly known as the office of Graduate Student Life & Wellness, the Graduate School Office of Well-Being (GROW) serves as a handbook to your well-being at MSU to help you navigate your way.
“Well-being” and “wellness” can be reduced to buzzwords easily these days, but they can also describe the kind of foundation that is crucial for success academically, professionally, and personally. GROW’s mission is to provide opportunities to build skills that help you address the challenges of graduate school that impact your well-being. We will help you find tools, resources, and programs to help you not just survive but actually thrive while achieving your academic and professional goals.

Cultural Adjustment Support Lunches
Are you an international graduate student? Did you just start here at MSU?
Have you encountered things on campus, in the classroom, in East Lansing that seem strange to you, and you don’t know what they mean or how you should act?
We all grow up in different cultural settings and getting to know another one can be confusing and challenging, but also really funny at times. If you want to reflect on some of the differences you’ve observed, ask others about what things mean or how to respond to them, or anything in relation to being an international graduate student finding your way in MSU’s culture, this is for you.
Join The Graduate School’s Office for Wellbeing for one or several Brown Bag Lunches* to share, commiserate, and laugh about the beautiful differences of our cultures.
When: 12-1pm on Tuesdays: September 17th, October 1st, October 15th, and October 29th
Where: Chittenden Hall Commons (the basement gathering space in The Graduate School)
*A Brown Bag Lunch is when everybody brings their own lunch, but we eat together and talk. No food will be provided. A microwave is available though.
