Equality & Diversity Statement
The Global Biodata Coalition, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement
We will actively seek to ensure openness and transparency in our work, avoiding discrimination and maintaining diversity of representation based on gender, race, age, disability, religion and sexuality in our decision making processes, our governance bodies and our interactions with our staff, members, observers and all stakeholders, within and external to the GBC.
The output of our work with the Forum of selected Global Core Biodata Resources is designed to be inclusive and impactful for all biodata resources and seeks to improve sustainability for the entire global data ecosystem of resources.
We aim for full global representation in our membership body and encourage engagement with any research funding organisation/supporter of biodata resources, from anywhere in the world, that shares our vision and values.
We are committed to act equitably and transparently with regard to decisions about recruitment and the contracting of services to the GBC, either remunerated or voluntary.
We seek to ensure that the impact of the GBC’s work is a benefit to society as a whole and to all users of biodata and managers of biodata resources, irrespective of their circumstances or geographical location.
Through its work, the GBC aims to help build a strong, vibrant and sustainable biodata resource infrastructure, which ensures research data can be accessed and used by researchers and others the world over for the benefit of society.
