Celebrate Doctor Who‘s 53rd Birthday By Watching Its Lead Character Die 13 Times

I mean, that is how you celebrate birthdays, right?

Doctor Who first aired 53 years ago today, at 5.16pm on the evening of November 23rd, 1963, and to mark the occasion, the BBC has whipped up a quick montage of every regeneration the Doctor has gone through so far in his more than half-a-century on our screens.

It’s got the actual regenerations for each Doctor up to Peter Capaldi—including John Hurt’s War Doctor, and even that one time David Tennant almost but not really regenerated in “The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End”, so it’s pretty complete in terms of every time the Doctor has basically faced truly fatal peril.

Bit morbid for a Birthday celebration though.
