Description
It would be great if the option to disconnect the built-in display could be set per external Display instead once for all Displays.
Problem Description
I enabled the setting "Disconnect built-in display when an external display is connected".
When I extend my MacBook display to my iPad, the MacBook display turns black and nothing is shown on the iPad display. The only option to get access to the MacBook Display again is by forcefully shutting it down.
The functionality to automatically disconnect the MacBook Display is great, but for connections to the iPad this setting makes no sense.
Possible fixes
- Possibility to set for each Display, if the built-in Display should be disconnected when connecting.
- Possibility to override this Setting for each Display (e.g. Do not disconnect built-in Display when connecting to this display).
- Possibility to set it for Groups? (have not worked with them yet, so I don't know if that makes sense)
Current Workarounds
- My Workaround at the moment is quitting BetterDisplay before connecting to the iPad. But if I forget this step, i have to forcefully shutdown my MacBook.
- Another Workaround is disabling the setting every time I want to extend to the iPad Display. But I often have to search for a while until i find the setting.
