BetterDisplay correctly detects that AW3423DWF supports DCC. For example, it can correctly change the display brightness. However, the DCC Input Source selection does not work. If I manually set the input to "DP 2" on the monitor and then try to use the DCC Input Source on BetterDisplay, it will always switch the input to "DP 1" no matter which selection I make. If the monitor input is set to "DP 1" and I try to chose "DisplayPort 2" on BetterDisplay, the monitor turns black for a second and when it turns back on, it will still be on "DP 1". Please let me know if I can provide additional logging that would help you analyze and fix this issue. Thanks! |

If the port layout does not match, you can simply change the codes associated with ports. The current mapping is just the most common but displays don't report these and these are not standardized so you need to configure it manually. |

Is there any way for me to figure out the correct code for the display? I know I can try them one by one but that's quite slow. If I do try to brute force it in this way, is there any risk that it might damage the monitor? |

Usually there is no real risk - if the code is wrong, the display usually blinks once. If right, it will switch to something else. But I wasn't very accurate, some displays actually report the proper input values, you can check this if you run the DDC auto-config stuff and check the report and see the values under inputSelect. It is just not known which code is what. Also, some displays report gibberish codes. |
