and this is what I have after installing python 3.10.12 from pyenv

However on my work server, which is running an earlier version of Ubuntu

I get a symlink of python to python3.10 which is missing in my workstation, ideally I want that symlink, but I am not sure why I can't reproduce it in my workstation. I uninstalled and reinstalled pyenv but I still get the same behavior as of now. How do I find out what caused the difference?
