Clarify DDEV governance and provide a way for orgs and individuals to contribute financially #3268

Description

It's time to make sure that those organizations and individuals who want to contribute financially can do so. Lots of orgs and individuals have indicated an interest.

  • Form a nonprofit to handle the finances. Localdev Foundation, a Colorado (US) Nonprofit.
  • Get a bank account for the nonprofit
  • Get D-U-N-S number for Localdev Foundation, required for Apple account, for notarization and signing on Apple
  • Create a website for Localdev Foundation (localdev.foundation)
  • Open Apple organization account (for signing binaries) for Localdev Foundation
  • Figure out the GitHub org where DDEV is going to live in permanently and clarify its control. Keep drud? Move to a new org?
  • Form an advisory group. Reopened Organize DDEV-Local Advisory Group #2057
  • Get GitHub Sponsors enabled
  • Reach out to all the orgs that have volunteered to support
  • Reach out to individuals who have offered to support
  • Working written explanation to users why it's reasonable to invest in DDEV workflow
  • Figure out use of DDEV trademark. Attribution, or assignment to new org, or whatever.
  • Disclosure of current financial needs (Newer test runners, annual costs for things like Apple, etc.)
  • Disclosure of future aspirational goals (GUI)
  • DDEV-specific twitter account. See if Fruition would allow @ddevhq to be used
  • Budget
    • General financial support
    • Test runners and testing resources (purchases, ongoing costs)
    • Conferences/travel
    • Other subscription costs (Apple/Windows developer maintenance)
    • 10% to upstream projects
