Steps to reproduce

Sometimes dragging over text with the left mouse down doesn't highlight the text until you release the mouse button (having had to guess what you have selected). I can't pin down the exact trigger alas. It usually happens repeatedly in a window but switching to another desktop and back fixes it. I will try to collect more symptoms as I hit it.

I don't know that this is under application control but I haven't seen the problem anywhere but contour so maybe it is.

Expected Behavior

Text would highlight as I drag

Actual Behavior

Nothing happened until mouse button was released. Then text was highlighted and everything worked as expected.

Additional notes

I have held off reporting this, partially because I haven't had any time, but also in the hope I could find a reliable way to reproduce - however I have failed. It occurs maybe every 2 or 3 days (but then repeatedly in a window until it stops). Opening now so others can add their observations if they have also seen it. If not I will try to add more data points when I can. As I don't know when its going to happen I have never been running contour in debug at the time.
