I would like to modify the detection criteria to be able to make it customizable for the following reason:

When putting together a sample of objects, often some quantitative cuts are made based on lightcurve quality. We could get much better info about the observational bias by taking into account the sample criteria as part of the "detected or not" calculation. Samples may include objects that have not been detected twice in one night, but that have a history of LC data.

The goal would be to allow the detection criteria to be a user defined (or customizable) function as well. Have spoken with @ufeindt about it and he thought that it would be feasible, so I just wanted to open the issue now to get on the radar.
