SIM TITLE: “SPINNING QUADS”

GRADE LEVEL: 4

RATIONALE:

The “Spinning Quads” is an Strategic Intervention Material that is conceptualized and


designed to aid the teacher to provide an opportunity for the grade IV pupils of San Isidro
Elementary School to explore various ideas and concepts that would develop their
understanding of the subject matter and its learning competency,

OBJECTIVES:

a) increase and deepen the skills, knowledge and understanding through a fun activity
using the intervention material which is made from indigenous, recyclable materials that also
teach them how to be creative and resourceful,

b) tend to reteach the lesson that is not so much clear to the learners and help them
gain mastery related to the subject matter and competency.

METHODOLOGY:

How to use the “Spinning Quads”:

1. Identify each quadrilaterals by spinning and matching the wheels (wheel 1 to 2 to 3)

2. To check if the wheels are matched correctly, see the color wheel at the back of the board.
Each section of the color wheel has 3 colors ordering from biggest to smallest, if the order of
the color in each section is matched to order of the colors of each wheel (from biggest to
smallest) of the “Spinning Quads”, then the wheels are matched correctly.

When to use the “Spinning Quads”:

This Strategic Intervention Material can be used through the lesson proper as an
instructional material and/or as an intervention material for remedial teaching.
