Problem Description

I have multiple DVD ISOs that have multiple chapters inside each. When I add these DVD ISOs to HandBrake at once, the chapters in all these DVD ISOs are not recognized. But when I add only 1 DVD ISO to HandBrake, the chapters of this 1 ISO are properly recognized.

This bug seems to only happen to DVD ISOs, not MKVs and other video formats. I don't have Bluray ISOs so I can't verify whether this also happens to Bluray ISOs.

This is expected behaviour. Batch mode doesn't work with Multi-title sources since you'd get title conflicts.

If you want to import structured DVD or Bluray content in iso files, you must process each one individually.

By following your direction, I created a test DVD ISO with multiple titles and found out that HandBrake handles the structure of Source, Title, Angle, and Chapter in a quite complex manner.

From a UI/UX standpoint, usually this structure is logical and correct when handling a single source with single/multiple titles each. But when there are multiple sources with single/multiple titles each, the UI considers a source a single title, ignores the actual titles, and ignores their chapters accordingly.

I can see why what I raised originally was not a bug. Instead the issue lies with the UI/UX which is not a huge deal in how I see it.

If the UI/UX can be improved in the future in this area, great. If not, please don't worry about it because I can accomplish my use case of having to handle multiple chapters in multiple sources with CLI.

libavformat can read DVD-Video and Blu-ray too now, so it's falling back to that. Maybe it would be better to disable it.
