This is NOT related to #5615

The native HTML5 <video> element supports .mov files in some browsers.

Firefox 95 (Windows) no

Untested on other versions

This also works in Safari — which makes sense since Quicktime and the .mov container are things Apple pioneered. I don't know when it was added, but it worked in 2003, when the videoblogging movement was inventing how to embed video on a webpage.
