At GATE Space, we develop green, chemical in-space propulsion solutions for the NewSpace economy. Drawing on years of experience developing rocket engines, our team is chasing the vision of a thriving economy in space and tackling space engineering problems with a rapid prototyping philosophy. We focus on the development of the GATE Jetpack – a plug-and-play mobility solution for satellite missions. Our products are powered by the GATE Thruster – the world’s first satellite thruster capable of highly responsive deep throttling and differential thrust stabilization.

GATE Jetpack for Smallsats

Plug-and-play integration

The GATE Jetpack’s integration is swift and simple. As a bolt-on propulsion solution, which is attached to the satellites’ payload adapter after the full integration of the satellite platform, the GATE Jetpack is compatible with all ESPA-class satellites.

Permanent mobility

The GATE Jetpack provides mission-lasting mobility as it remains with the satellite permanently. The GATE Jetpack enables satellites to cover the last mile to their final orbit, perform mission reconfiguration and collision avoidance maneuvers, refueling and de-orbiting.

Mobility as a Service

The GATE Jetpack is managed by the GATE Autopilot – a subscription based suite of complementary services that takes care of the satellite’s mobility needs in space. Orbital maneuvers are performed safely and autonomously.

GATE Thruster for

Flexibility

With its revolutionary new, patented injection technology, the GATE Thruster is capable of precise continuous deep throttling in a ratio of 1:10 and transient thrust profiles and pulsed operation at 10 Hz, allowing it to perform like an apogee engine and a reaction control thruster combined. Integrated closed loop linear thrust control via a single parameter.

Differential thrust stabilization

The GATE Thruster enables three-axes stabilized orbit transfers without additional reaction control thrusters by exploiting differential thrust balancing – the concept that already powers all commercial eVTOL aircraft.

Center of mass shift compensation

The GATE Thruster allows the autonomous compensation of changes in a spacecraft’s mass distribution – perfect for spacecraft which operate in different loadout scenarios due to the release or capture of payloads or asymmetric propellant depletion.
