Set up requirements
There are different requirements for setting up a Fitbit Ace LTE, depending on the userâs age.
Users under 13
If the Fitbit Ace LTE is used by a user under 13 (or the age of consent in your country), the set up should be completed by the userâs parent. To complete the set up, the parent needs:
- A Wi-Fi connection. Only 2.4 GHz networks are supported (5GHz not compatible).
- To download the Fitbit Ace App on their compatible phone
- A Google Account for themselves
- A Google Account for their child. Parents can create a Google Account for their child during the Fitbit Ace LTE set up process.
- To purchase an Ace Pass data plan. The Ace Pass is available for purchase during the Fitbit Ace LTE set up process.
Users 13 and older
If the Fitbit Ace LTE is used by an older user, the set up should be completed by the user themself. To complete the set up, the user needs:
- A Wi-Fi connection. Only 2.4 GHz networks are supported (5GHz not compatible).
- To download the Fitbit Ace App on their compatible phone
- A Google Account for themselves
- Permission from their parent for Google to collect, use, or disclose the userâs information. Permission is obtained during the Fitbit Ace LTE set up process.
- Their parent to purchase an Ace Pass data plan. The Ace Pass is available for purchase during the Fitbit Ace LTE set up process.
Compatibility requirements
Fitbit Ace LTE requires the use of the Fitbit Ace App. The Fitbit Ace App works on:
- Android phones running Android OS version 11.0 or newer
- iOS phones running iOS 15 or newer
The Fitbit Ace App isn't compatible with Android (Go edition).
Software updates may be available from time to time to users with an active Ace Pass. Updates can be received only when the Fitbit Ace LTE is connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz not compatible).
Availability
Fitbit Ace LTE and the Fitbit Ace app are available only in the United States, excluding Alaska and US territories. To buy, set up or use a Fitbit Ace LTE or the Fitbit Ace app, you must be in the United States, excluding Alaska and US territories, and your Google Account must be associated with the United States.
The Friends feature is available only in the United States, excluding:
- Texas, for users 13 and over
- Louisiana
- Utah
Some features are only available when a Fitbit Ace LTE is running the latest software updates. Features may also be affected when the Fitbit Ace LTE doesn't regularly connect to the internet (for example, when airplane mode is activated for long periods).
Tap to Pay
Tap to Pay feature is only available with the supported payment cards and may require separate membership.
