- After your treatment, your lips will feel very dry and swollen. Apply the supplied aftercare ointment to your lips 2-3 times daily. DO NOT rub into the skin: tap gently using a Q-Tip. This should be done every day for 14 days post-treatment.
- Wash your lips after treatment, then wash them daily to remove bacteria, build-up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!) Follow the below instructions:
- Gently wash the area each morning and night with water, gentle soap, or an unscented cleanser like Cetaphil, EN Glow Cleanser, or baby shampoo. Use your fingertips to cleanse the area gently with a very light touch.
- Rub the area in smooth motions for 10 seconds, then rinse with water, ensuring all soap is rinsed away.
- To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or exfoliants.
- DO NOT allow lips to become dry; this may interfere with the healed color.
- Always apply with a clean Q-Tip; never use your fingers to apply the ointment. This will reduce the risk of secondary infection.
- We recommend you sleep on a clean, satin pillowcase for seven (7) nights. This will minimize the loss of pigmentation caused by rubbing against cotton, textured pillowcases as you sleep.
- After lips are no longer tender to the touch, they may become flaky. This is normal. Please DO NOT pick or scratch at them, as this may significantly reduce the amount of pigment uptake.
- Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post-procedure. Be sure to use sunblock once your lips. DO NOT use Glycolic, hydroxyl, or fruit acid products on lips.
- For the first few days after treatment, brush your teeth with water only.
- You can resume wearing lipstick. Once your lips are healed, we suggest you use NEW lipstick after all lip treatments.
- Redness, swelling, tenderness, and dryness are common post-treatment side effects and will dissipate quickly.
- Avoid oily, salty, spicy, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
- Lips are very unpredictable. Some clients will have a very strong uptake in healed color, and others will have a very slight uptake.
- Fever Blisters are a known side effect of all lip procedures. Follow all Care instructions, and it is less likely to become an issue.
- After your procedure, you may take Benadryl if needed and use ice packs to reduce light swelling for the first one or two days. Avoid any friction to the lip area.
Lips heal in 3 stages: TOO DARK –TOO LIGHT –JUST RIGHT.
Please keep in mind this process takes ONE MONTH.
Your permanent makeup may look distorted and/or darker when initially applied. This is normal. Remember, permanent makeup is a process, not only a Procedure.
