Overview
The Ancient Depth Serpent is an Exotic fish obtainable at The Depths. Due to its high rarity, it makes for a harder catch, moving erratically across the fishing bar. When catching, a -60% progress speed decrease is inflicted on the player.
When hooked, the exclamation point above the player's head takes on a rainbow color, and a shimmering sound is played - as with all Exotic fish.
Obtainment
This fish can be caught in a randomly spawning abundance spot in the water of The Depths in an Absolute Darkness event. The Ancient Depth Serpent appears abundantly at one of few random spots throughout The Depths.
The abundance spot is very small and only lasts for about a few minutes, disappearing before the "Absolute Darkness" event ends itself. The abundance spot also glows, which makes it easier to find.
On spawning, the message "The depths grows darker" is displayed near the player’s hotbar. When using the Fish Radar the abundance spot is made more visible with a lime green area, with text to match it.
The Ancient Depth Serpent's special event requirement and it’s erratic movement when catching makes it one of the rarest fish in the game.
