Nils Johan Engelsen

Nils Johan Engelsen is an assistant professor at Chalmers University of Technology, where he leads the Hybrid Quantum Systems Laboratory. He earned his B.A. and M.Sci. from Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. He did his PhD at Stanford University on quantum metrology with cold atoms and then worked as a postdoctoral scholar at EPFL in Switzerland on quantum measurement of mechanical resonators. His current research is centered on creating hybrid quantum systems of atoms, light and mechanical motion to advance sensing technology and study quantum foundations.
