In what has to be a positive sign of things to come, Blogger has taken the OpenID commenting feature from beta to live in a matter of two weeks.
With great progress coming on OAuth Discovery, we’re rapidly approaching the plumbing needed to really start to innovate on citizen-centric web services… and social network portability.

I think your headline is a little misleading.
According to the official explanation posted to my blogger dashboard by the staff, the OpenID feature applies only to commenting.
Yes it is out of beta, available on all blogs not just “Blogger Draft”. Still it is only enable for commenting and only as an opt-in feature.
My issue is mainly that as the blog owner I still cannot login to my Blogger account with OpenID. The Google ID is still required.
It’s not opt-in — it’s automatically on for any ‘anyone con comment’ blogs… which is most of them
