The alliance between Parvati Shallow, Amanda Kimmel, Cirie Fields, Natalie Bolton, and Alexis Jones not only pulled off the greatest move in franchise history, it also became one of the rarest things seen in the reality competition genre — a successful women's alliance. There has been lots of talk over the years on shows like Survivor and Big Brother from women about forming alliances, but the vast majority of it has been just that — talk. There was even discussion of a possible gender-based team-up this week on Survivor 47, as Rachel LaMont talked about liking most of the women in the game, and then Teeny Chirchillo told the others that she would love all the women to make it to the jury. Tiyana Hallums even volunteered the name of a man to vote out (Gabe Ortis) to make it happen. A deleted scene from 'Survivor 47'. CBS Survivor 47 star Rome Cooney got a 'salty' reception at Ponderosa When push came to shove, however, Tiyana, Sue Smey, and Caroline Vidmar were planning to vote out a fellow woman in Rachel. When Rachel then received an advantage that granted her safety, Sue and Caroline chose to vote out another woman in Tiyana — as yet another women's alliance crumbled before ever actually forming. However, even though women's alliances are, in actuality, extremely rare on Survivor, that has never stopped men from worrying incessantly about them. Which brings us to this week's exclusive deleted scene. The scene, which can be watched above, takes place on day 13 of the game — the same day of the aired woman confab. And Gabe does not like what he sees. "Once I get up, everyone's kind of just talking, and we are all being pleasant with each other and just chatting," he says in a confessional interview. "But then, you can see the group start breaking off a little bit. And pictures — very fuzzy pictures, but pictures — start getting formed, and it's when you realize, okay, the game is starting to get on." Gabe Ortis and Sol Yi in a deleted scene from 'Survivor 47'. CBS Survivor 47 contestants explain their biggest pet peeves (exclusive) And what is Gabe seeing, exactly? "I'm seeing a lot of girls chatting," he says. "A lot of fellas have left this game already, and as one of those fellas, it puts a little bit of paranoia in my mind. And I don't want the girls to be able to take too much control of this game too quickly, because that's a very tough place to be. And I never want to be in a place in this game where I feel like I have to win an individual immunity challenge to make it to the next round." But these aren't just potential concerns Gabe has floating around in his head. This man is taking action! "I just feel we're losing a lot of guys," he tells Sol Yi. "We're losing a lot of guys, and so I'm just thinking if we can kill two birds with one stone and get a girl out of this game, and then, because even if they're cool now, when the going gets tough, a girls' alliance could always pop up." And then Gabe tries to get Andy Rueda on board as well, telling him, "The only thing I'm worried about, we're losing a lot of fellas. We're losing a lot of guys. And even if it's not a thing right now, when it gets gritty, it can be like, 'Look, we got six girls and there's three guys. Let's just pick them off.'" Andy Rueda in a 'Survivor 47' deleted scene. Apparently, even though he has the loyal Sue who would tell him anything brewing, Gabe is desperately fearing some sort of Avengers-style GIRL POWER moment in which they will all simultaneously snap their fingers and turn him and all the other men to reality television dust. "Even though they're not my number-ones by any means — none of them are — I need to keep some fellas in this game just for a little bit of extra security, some insurance," he tells us. "There's going to be a time to act, and tonight we need to get out a girl." And that they did. But voted out, it should be noted, by two of her own.
